Disappointing slow and rambling adventure wastes the presence of Ettore Manni
ccmiller149222 March 2002
A Spanish nobleman impersonates an architect seeking employment with a wealthy desert tyrant. Meanwhile, the mysterious Red Sheik who was supposedly killed years ago commences daring raids on behalf of the oppressed peasants. The plot is slow and rambles. Channing Pollock, the main actor is uninspiring as Ruiz, while Ettore Manni who usually lends a great deal of verve and élan to such proceedings is given a small part with too little to do. Killing his character of Mohammad off too early prevents the fuse on this project from ever igniting. In all fairness, the dull quality of this work may be largely due to its pedestrian English dubbing rather than its hackneyed plot and script which are severe handicaps to actors far more accomplished than this cast.
