Fun Eurospy outing
Leofwine_draca16 June 2022
SICARIO 77 is a fun little Eurospy movie made as a collaboration between Italy and Spain. The hero is an unlikely British agent forced to tackle a secret German organisation set up to bring Nazi rule back to Europe. Plenty of intrigue, chases and a fair bit of action mark this out as one of the better instalments of its kind.

Average but passable Euro-spy film co-produced by Spain/Italy shot in various European locations

Lester (Rodd Dana) is an unlikely British agent forced to tackle a secret German organisation in enchande for a high reward. The UK Secret Service is asigned by his chief (John Stacy) -in exchange for 5000 dollars- to track down a nasty mobster named Mr. King (José Bódalo), he is a Nazi boss who during WWII worked for Hitler at Peenemuende factory in order to secret wapons. Nowadays, the German scientist is creating new V3 weapons with evil targets. He is using his power and special knowledge to rebuild a Nazi regime and take over the world. Lester follows a lead, from a rigged boxing match to various European cities. In Barcelona he meets another agent Margaret 'Minnie' Duke (Alicia Brandet) and the suspicious Barbara Bergson (Mónica Randall).

Ordinary Euro Spy movie with usual ingredients as noisy action , car pursuits , fights , kidnapping, helicopters and explosive women Stars the unknown Rodd Dana as an agent assigned to eliminate the Nazi organization . It has some flaws and gaps , as it does tends to get a bit old style , including silly fights, but it has fun enough , so it cares . Equally, it packs some frenetic action scenes , including pursuits , crashes , and at the end a breathtaking confrontation in which our beloved agent like a pre-Rambo eliminates all the enemies with a bazooka. Of course , it turns out to be a 007 rip-off , taking parts here and there of the classic Ian Fleming's James Bond movies . Easy-going , acrobatic Rodd Dana gives likable acting as the rogue agent/playboy who always acts for a price and takes on a criminal organization led by José Bódalo of Django movie. Dana an atractiveness and sympathy that makes him great to watch. Co-stars three Eurotrash starletts : Alicia Brandet, Mónica Randall, Sarah Ross, and special mention for José Bódalo as the gangster set up to bring Nazi rule back to Europe.

It displayys an atmospheric music by Federico Martínez Tudó. As well as evocative cinematography, shot mostly in Barcelona in which there's a thrilling chase at the 'Sagrada Familia Cathedral'. Being a Spanish/Italian co-production, the flick was regular but written/produced by Alfonso Balcazar . This Spanish filmmaker Balcazar directed all kinds of genres as Spaguetti/Paella Western , most of them starred by George Martin , Luis Davila , Daniel Martin or Robert Woods, such as : Clint the loner , The return of Clint , Judas Toma tus monedas , Sartana no perdona or Sonora, With Death on your Back , Dinamita Jim , Doc Manos de Plata , Viva Carrancho , Five Thousands Dollars on One Ace , and other genres as Erotic : Julieta , Deseo, Colegialas Lesbianas , Las Primeras Experiencias , Giallo : La Casa de las Muertas Vivientas and Drama : La Encrucijada , ? Donde vas triste de ti ? , Cena de Matrimonios , La Bella Lola , among others . The film was mediocrely made by Mino Guerrini, a writer and director who directed various ordinary films, thriller, comedy, poliziesco, Decamerone, erotic, terror, such as: Camarera en alquiler, Vinella e Don Pezzotta Gansters 70, El Coronel Buttiglione, Gli altri racconti di Canterbury, Decameron 2, Extraconyugal, Colpo di sole, Rating : 5/ 10. Mediocre, but passable and acceptable yarn that will appeal to Euro-spy genre.

Very good!

The best Eurospy I've ever seen. And, I've seen a lot of Eurospy films in my life. They're almost all the same, boring, like they're being xeroxed. This one it has a very serious plot, is well played and well filmed. It can compete with any original Bond movie, due to the fact that it's very realistic, credible, convincing.

Lives up to it's film poster.

Rod Dana makes for a appealing spy who's primary motivation is now a check. An enjoyable and well-paced Eurospy film that could use a DVD release. The soundtrack is snappy, "most" of the fight scenes are realistic, and it features some nice locations in Barcelona.
