Unusual scheme for an unusual film

I will always be astonished by all the obscure films that were maid by the Italian movie industry all over the years, especially the sixties and seventies. Although it seems this one was released in France. Maybe because it stars Jean Sorel who, like Philippe Leroy, made most of his career in Italy.

The splendid settings contribute to the atmosphere of this crime adventure drama set in Sardinia. Tourists seeking pure emotion by meeting a notorious bandit in the deep heart of the wilderness. But the police force is not far...

A kind of modern western. I have seen more inspired movies but this one did not disappoint me. This feature was supposed to be presented in Cannes Festival, back in 1968, but the whole thing was cancelled because of the events that occurred in May in France. This film is in the right mood of this time, speaking of revolutionary ideas, such as this outlaw defying the society whilst hiding in his mountains. A lost in advance hero accused of a crime he did not commit and for whom his fellow tourists, who came to take photos of him, will fight at his side against the police.

A bittersweet ending that make you think.
