A sketch featuring The Two Ronnies impersonating DJ and presenter Jimmy Savile was subsequently edited from the BBC's 2012 DVD release "The Complete Collection" following posthumous revelations that Savile was a prolific sex offender.
In 1979, Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett took their families to Australia for a year, for job opportunities and to avoid the British Labour government's 83% top rate of income tax, which had been introduced in 1974.
The series was commissioned by the BBC's light entertainment executive Bill Cotton and BBC One controller Paul Fox after they were impressed by seeing Barker and Corbett give an impromptu performance together at the 1970 BAFTA awards while it was being delayed by technical problems.
