Valerie Leon was dubbed throughout the entire film by *June Whitfield. Although the lip-syncing/ADR, and vocal styling choice of the two character voices June Whitfield uses, along with the sound recording acoustics, makes it hard to tell she's doing two voices, even in the same shot. *However, many years later, June Whitfield reportedly told "Carry On" historian, Robert Ross, that she could not recall dubbing Leon's voice in this picture.
The fictional town of Fircombe is actually Brighton.
The film was a relative failure at the box office. It was this failure which led to a reduction in the number of Carry On films from two films a year (for most years of the series up to and including 1972) to one film a year. The film's failure also led to the cancellation of the Carry On Christmas TV specials.
Four policemen were used to protect the shooting of Margaret Nolan's nude scene with Robin Askwith on Brighton beach, which was the first scene on location.
