Simple moving story

This is a wonder! One of my favorite Quebec's film of all time. It shows us the last days in the life of an old man, living peacefully with his wife. They're alone, they lost their only child during World War Two. You see the man and the woman in their every day life, where everything is simple, natural, in harmony with the nature. Then the man got sick... The final scene, when we saw him die through the window becomes very moving when the woman gets to him, takes his hands and dies a few seconds later. Young angels (children) takes them by the hand to the paradise. Wonderful! And superb acting by veterans Nadeau and Gagnon. This man, J. Léo Gagnon, had always bit parts in lots of Quebec film from the 1950's to the 1980's. This is his only film where he stars.
