Sex & Nudity

  • In one season 1 episode,Women came to police station and wore a suggestive outfits.
  • In "The Stakeout ",Hal Linden hears the alarm,looks out the window,saw the robbery,and grab the gun and get out here with only no clothes....just a towel around his waist.This causes an audience to laugh out loud and starts applause and then the episode ends.This a Comedic relief.

Violence & Gore

  • There is NO violence,EXCEPT; Villains pointing police officers and troubled citizen(s) and/or hoodlums with their own fully loaded guns,rifles and guns can be shown but nobody shoot it onscreen,verbal arguments,some yelling and shouting,Wojo loses temper,death threats,struggling and some suicidal attempts.
  • Wojo loses temper,causing him to start shouting and yelliing.
  • The 12th Precinct is held hostage on at least 5 occasions, three times at gunpoint and twice with explosives.

Profanity

  • Hell and damn are only used few times Throughout this TV Show.
  • "Crapola" are said only once.
  • "Bastardized" are said once in one episode.
  • Incomplete or Interrupted uses "son of a b---h"
  • The word "Damn" is used in the TV show.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Harris, Yemana and Deitrich are frequent smokers. Bruno Binder is almost always seen with a cigar in his appearances. Barney was a smoker, but gives it up partway through the series, returning for a one-off gag where when in a depression, he smokes a three-year-old cigarette he found in his desk.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • On at least five occasions in the series the precinct is held hostage either at gunpoint or by a explosives. Characters can often have explosive arguments and there have been a few offscreen deaths, and on at least two occasions onscreen near-deaths.
  • Several verbal arguments.
  • In "The Hero",Chano,who is in his apartment,sit down and start crying.This may cause younger viewer to cry.Too intense and sad.

Violence & Gore

  • No violence,though it has been referred/mentioned and death threats occur throughout the series.
  • In "The Hero", Chano is shown to go through a fairly realistic bout of PTSD due to his having to kill a bank robber who was an immediate threat to life. Chano flies into intermittent rages during the story (including at one point smashing a coffee cup he was holding) and throughout is barely trying to hang on. It is harrowing to watch and not played for laughs.
  • At one point,in one episode,Wojo gets upset and slams the table with his fist so extremely hard and loud.

Profanity

  • There isn't any other profanity,just "hell" and"damn" are only used.
  • In "Liquidation", Harris, in a drunken stupor refers to himself as "one mad ni**er" out of frustration at having to sell all his belongings to satisfy the libel judgement that Ripner won against him.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Cotterman get shot and killed by two bad guys off screen (it was referred).
  • In "Homicide:Part 2",the 12th precinct squad learns that Mr. Cotterman got shot and killed.
  • In "The Hero",Chano starts crying at his apartment,his is may too intense for some younger viewers.Viewers may crying for this scene.
  • In "The Hero",Chano shot and killed two robbers,causing to depress to/for this,and his behavior gets strange.
