The One-Armed Bum smashes 7 flies with his hand, and then brags: "I killed seven with one blow!" This is based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale "The Brave Little Tailor," because he also had smashed 7 flies, and tried to make people think he had killed 7 enemy soldiers.
The character Nai Men was an inspiration for the character Fangs The Vampire during the Fortune Teller Baba arc of Dragon Ball. Fangs wears shorts that are the same color scheme as Nai Men's uniform & before he fights he does the same gypsy style dance.
