- Mild to Moderate sexual content; if made today and without the incredibly brief nudity, the film could've passed for PG-13
- A man is seen naked from the rear.
- A woman is forced to perform a striptease in front of an audience of men. The scene lasts for under half a minute. She takes off the top of her dress, revealing her breasts briefly. She then turns around, completely removing the dress. She then takes off her panties, and marches right off stage (only her back is seen once she turns around).
- A woman wakes up in bed with a man.
- A married woman is seen in bed with another man; sex is implied.
Violence & Gore

- A brief but tense scuffle results in a man being thrown in the scuffle.
- Some tense yelling between characters occur a couple times in the film.
- A mild instance relating to a car accident occurs in one scene.
Profanity

- "Hell" is used several times in the film.
- Sometimes, the language is hidden by overlapping dialogue (one of Altman's classic styles).
- The F-word is used once. The S-word is used six times. The N-word is used once by one African-American insulting another. There are somewhat more frequent uses of expressions such as "goddammit."

- Several scenes are at cocktail parties or bars where numerous people drink and smoke.

- A man and woman smoke in bed, presumably after sex.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

- A couple intense moments occur in the film, but mostly the film has a very mellow atmosphere to it and mostly consists of talking and musical numbers.
- Rated R for sexuality and violence.
- Nothing truly intense even by 1975 standards. This film is a mellow character study.
- The only remotely frightening scene is when a man fires a gun into an open crowd. This happens in an extreme wide-shot camera angle.
