Directed by Sam O'Steen, who was editor on Roman Polanski's original Rosemary's Baby (1968). He would later go on to work with Polanski again as editor on Frantic (1988).

In her 2018 posthumous memoir, "In the Presence of Greatness: My Sixty-Year Journey as an Actress," Patty Duke states that although she loved working with Ruth Gordon, she regretted participating in this film. Duke also said she only agreed to be in it because of the paycheck.
