Sex & Nudity

  • Kimberly Wells is reporting about a belly dancer (which she calls a 'bellygram'). Close-up shots of the belly dancer are shown.
  • Mildly sexual language used by cameraman toward Kimberly while shooting "reaction scene" at the beginning of the power plant tour. Overall in observing her male boss' comments about Kimberly, this demonstrates female objectification as regards representation on television news programs at the time, i.e. women were regarded as eye candy.

Violence & Gore

Profanity

  • 8 abuses of "Christ" and 7 misuses of "Jesus." Lots of instances of "God" as a curse word, plus hell, damn, the 's' word, bitch, and other swearing.
  • Some stronger language such as "Ass", "Bastard", "Shit", and "Goddamn" are said as well.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Kimberly takes a drag off of a cigarette after shooting a piece on singing telegrams.
  • After finding out the station will not air the nuclear piece, Kimberly takes a drag off of a cigarette before going on the air.
  • Kimberly Wells, Jack Godell and another couple are drinking in a bar. Kimberly orders and drinks scotch.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A severe malfunction is shown in a nuclear power plant, where parts of a pump are breaking apart. It is clear that this is a dire portent for a possible horrific disaster of a full nuclear meltdown.
