Upon doing this show, Vincent Price joked that he worked with every master of horror with Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, John Carradine and now Scooby-Doo.
Vincent Van Ghoul was modeled after the Marvel Comics superhero Dr. Strange and actor Vincent Price, who provided the character's voice.
For this series, Daphne and Shaggy were given new ('80s-style) re-designs. This was the only time Daphne appeared with hers, but Shaggy sported his new look in not only this series, but also in the three TV-movies (Scooby-Doo Meets the Boo Brothers (1987), Scooby-Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf (1988), and Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School (1988)) that aired in the late '80s.
Every episode features a rubber ducky in some form.
