While Peacock has the library and original programming of the WWE Network, the famed wrestling brand continues to expand as Roku gets in on more of the streaming content game. According to The Hollywood Reporter, John Cena will be producing a new docuseries for Roku titled WWE: Recruits. The concept for the series is more of a serious take on the WWE reality show Tough Enough. Whereas Tough Enough is more of a competition between a group of people vying to become the newest talents in the WWE world, WWE: Recruits is more of a look at the journey of wrestling hopefuls as the company seeks to develop the new talent as future stars.

WWE: Recruits will follow a group of men and women hoping to become WWE superstars. Other stars set to appear in the series are Paul “Triple H” Levesque (who also leads WWE creative); Ric Flair; Shawn Michaels; and Bianca Belair. Filming is already underway, with some content produced at Wrestlemania last weekend.

I Am Thor
Directed by Ryan Wise
2015, USA / Canada /Finland / Sweden
Heavy metal lyrics and performance styles are often associated with masculinity, aggression, and machismo but even by Heavy metal standards, the artist known as Thor (a.k.a. Jon Miki Thor) is an absolute beast!
The Norse god impersonator, semi-professional bodybuilder, performance artist, b-movie actor, and all-around nice guy is the subject of I Am Thor, an 84 minute documentary by director Ryan Wise which shines some insight into Thor’s wild life and documents his long-running come back. With a music career spanning five decades, Thor is one of the legends of rock-n-roll that not enough people know exists —and hopefully this film will change that. 15 years in the making and I Am Thor is finally here, and totally worth the wait.
I’ve seen some remarkable screenings over my 19 years of attending the Fantasia Film Festival. I’ll never forget the enthusiastic,...
