During several exterior scenes of the space station, the top half of a toy Millennium Falcon spaceship from Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) is used as part of the exterior topography of the station.
One version of the film's cover art shows Gar with needle-sharp teeth, and several members of the crew inside glass-covered hypersleep tables. Neither of these things actually appear in the film itself.
Stefanianna Christopherson, who wrote and sings the ending theme song "Crystal of the Stars", was the voice of Daphne Blake in the cartoon series Scooby Doo, Where Are You! (1969).
In some brief moments, a device with two tubes with red rotating lights can be spotted in the background. This is the same prop used in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) and in Airplane II: The Sequel (1982), which purpose still isn't revealed.
The film takes place in the year 2035.
