- The film is set during the Pleasant Valley War in Arizona, which leads to a lot of deaths throughout the film. There is a moderate amount of blood. The violence, while not super graphic, is very intense. There is an intense gunfight at a ranch that may scare younger viewers.

- A young man/teenager is hung by Vigilantes. Matt Dillon is shot in the left arm with some blood visible. Colonel Tucker, the leader of the Vigilantes, is shot by Matt Dillon. Matt Dillon and Sheriff Rose take out Colonel Tucker and his sons after they refuse to give up for their crimes.
