- The goriest scene shows a young man (who got bitten by a tick) who starts to have a seizure, it is shown how a large creature forces itself out of the boys body. His limbs, face and torso get ripped open in graphic detail.
- Lots of gross, gooey scenes of the title creatures burrow inside people, causing them to bleed profusely and make their flesh bubble. There's also lots of gory moments were the ticks get messily squished or explode
