The Kannada film Blink, directed by Srinidhi Bengaluru, has a truly unique storyline, unlike anything I’ve seen before in Indian cinema, blending elements of time travel and Greek mythology. It also pays tribute to folk artists and theater performers as well. The film centers around Apoorva, who is insecure about his future. The plot shows us his past life, where after meeting a mysterious man and experimenting with time travel, Apoorva discovers the shocking truth about his father, which changes everything he thought he knew. Even though we know that Blink is Srinidhi Bengaluru’s debut project, how he has blended past and present with mystery, drama, and sci-fi elements is truly something else. While the plot of the Kannada film seems quite complex, I’ll try to explain it as clearly as possible in Blink’s explainer.
Spoilers Ahead
Who did Apoorva agree to do the experiment?

Doctor Who has always brought about some of the most unique storylines throughout its course with a runtime of over half a century. From episodes like Blink and The Girl in the Fireplace to The Day of the Doctor and Vincent and the Doctor, there are always ways in which the series has brought about some tearful emotions in the fans.
Ncuti Gatwa as the 15th Doctor
This, however, is only one side of the coin. Despite the many likes storylines and episodes, there are also those that did not sit too well with fans. Some were controversial in their opinion. These included the story of Clara Oswald, the Bad Wolf storyline as well as the most controversial of the lot, the Timeless Child. While the last one got many fans disappointed, Russell T. Davies does not see it the same way.

Filmmakers often say that they have to personalize their work. After all, they painstakingly devote at least two years of their lives to bring a film to fruition, but in the case of Tarot co-directors Spenser Cohen and Anna Halberg, they turned what would normally be a genre exercise into something from the heart.
Tarot — which serves as the writer-directors’ feature directorial debut — is a supernatural horror film involving a group of college friends who, during a weekend getaway, crack open a cursed deck of tarot cards to learn their ominous horoscopes. The tarot card reading is reluctantly led by Harriet Slater’s Haley, who, like Halberg, is a Minnesota native, and shortly after the friend group returns to their Boston-area university, all hell breaks loose as each individual reading comes true in lethal fashion.
Haley’s sole reason for originally getting into tarot as a child was based on...

When Ncuti Gatwa makes his first appearance as the 15th Doctor in the science-fiction series “Doctor Who,” he isn’t wearing any pants.
In a 60th-anniversary special released in December, the previous Doctor — played by series icon David Tennant — subverts the show’s long-standing practice of regeneration: Instead of simply transforming into the next Doctor, he literally splits in half, bringing Gatwa’s Doctor into the world alongside him. In the process, the two divide the clothes of Tennant’s Doctor between them, leaving Gatwa in nothing but a dress shirt and a pair of tighty-whities.
“Oh, my God, that first costume fitting!” Gatwa says, bursting into an infectious fit of laughter. It’s a frequent occurrence as he speaks with Variety on a chilly March day over lemon ginger tea at the Langham hotel in London. “I was like, ‘Are you joking?!’ They showed me a pair of [underwear] and...

In what will surely come as a huge shock to the general public and cause no small number of monocles to pop out, Amazon MGM Studios has elected to retitle Zoë Kravitz's feature directing debut, which was previously going under the not-at-all provocative moniker "Pussy Island." Kravitz's film will instead be released as "Blink Twice," which for me conjures memories of David Tennant's 10th Doctor desperately warning Carey Mulligan not to blink around the Weeping Angels in the classic modern "Doctor Who" episode "Blink."
That association isn't entirely inappropriate, either. "Blink Twice," like "Blink," is a potpourri of horror, mystery-thriller, and humor with an English actor at its core. In this case, it's Naomi Ackie of "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker," "Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody," and "Master of None" season 3 fame starring as a young woman who accompanies a tech billionaire -- played by Kravitz's current real-life significant other,...

While 2000’s “The Tipping Point” was writer Malcolm Gladwell‘s first book, it was 2005’s “Blink” that put him on the map. And the bestseller, all about the adaptive unconscious, captured the public’s imagination so much that Gladwell and screenwriter Stephen Gaghan had plans to make the book into a feature film. But tragedy derailed those plans, and THR reports that the pair talked about the unproduced screenplay for “Blink” on a new limited series for Gladwell’s podcast “Revisionist History.”

Another day, another teaser that the Elden Ring Dlc, Shadow of the Erdtree, is coming as even more updates have been brought to the game’s SteamDB page, but this time it is seemingly more likely that the Dlc is right around the corner.
Over the past few weeks, there have been a few different updates to the SteamDB page for Elden Ring, as many minor updates have been brought to the page. However, these updates have usually been unnamed and hidden from the community, so we do not know what has been updated, but this update has revealed some rather big secrets for the future of the game.

This Doctor Who article contains spoilers.
“When I was young, I was so sure of myself,” the Doctor tells Donna Noble early in the third and final Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Special. “I made a terrible mistake.” That bit of exposition catches up viewers who never got the chance to watch the lost First Doctor serial “The Celestial Toymaker,” in which Michael Gough played the Toymaker, the bad guy of “The Giggle,” now played by Neil Patrick Harris. However, it also captures the theme of the episode, in which the Toymaker’s control over reality and the weight of constant running finally catches up to the Doctor and forces him to admit how little he knows.
From the Covid-era satire of the world destroying itself in pursuit of individual truth to the weariness with which the Doctor tells Noble that he was “so certain” about his past actions, “The...

Warning: contains spoilers for Doctor Who: The Star Beast.
The first of the new David Tennant and Catherine Tate-fronted episodes is called simply “The Star Beast”, a title it shares with the 1980 Doctor Who Weekly comic strip (published in the US by Marvel Comics as “Stan Lee Presents: Doctor Who”) “Doctor Who and the Star Beast”, featuring the Fourth Doctor as played by Tom Baker.
The TV special stars Miriam Margolyes as the voice of the fluffy alien “Beep the Meep”, who first appeared in that comic. And if we put the poster for the special alongside the cover of that comic (see above) there are… similarities.
It wouldn’t be the first time the Doctor Who TV series has adapted stories from other mediums. The most famous example would be when Paul Cornell was invited to adapt the Seventh Doctor novel he had written for Virgin New Adventures,...

In honor of Walt Disney Animation's 100 year anniversary, the House of Mouse has released its 62nd animated feature -- "Wish." Starring Oscar winner Ariana DeBose and "Best Chris" Chris Pine, the story follows a young woman who makes a wish on a star with so much passion that the little Star comes down to help her save her kingdom from the evil, magical King Magnifico. Blending traditional hand-drawn animation styles and the new computer generated artistry into one film, "Wish" is also Disney's first original fairy tale. The film is the pièce de résistance of Disney's centennial celebration, and as such, features countless references to the films and characters that turned a scrappy animation studio into the most powerful name in entertainment.

Choosing your favourite Doctor Who episode feels a bit like choosing your favourite child, except you probably don’t have 800-plus children, so maybe it’s even worse.
But that’s exactly what Doctor Who Magazine inflicted on fans earlier this year, sugaring the pill ever so slightly by combining all the multiple-episode stories into one, which helpfully narrowed the choice from over 800 episodes to 300 “TV adventures”.
Who fans were tasked with rating all episodes out of ten – narrowing it down to 37 stories – and then asked to pick their top five from this list. After much number crunching, the top 10 TV adventures were revealed.
And there was one clear winner: “Heaven Sent”.
This 2015 Peter Capaldi-era episode was certainly powerful and memorable. The Doctor was grieving Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman), after she was executed in the previous episode, “Face The Raven”. In “Heaven Sent”, The Doctor is trapped in a strange castle,...

‘Right at the very beginning!’ – answered nobody, ever to the question of where a newcomer to Doctor Who should start watching. This is a show with almost 900 episodes, six decades of production, and a megaton of baggage.
To start with 1963’s “An Unearthly Child” now and try to watch everything, plus spin-offs, before you could get involved with the Ncuti Gatwa era? You’d need a Tardis.
So where to jump in? Now that BBC iPlayer is host to the whole Doctor Who kit and kaboodle in the UK as part of its new “Whoniverse” division, it’s a very good question. That’s why we asked it to our writhing nest of Doctor Who experts. And here’s what they recommend:
Rose (2005)

Blink-182 have officially released One More Time…, the first album to feature Tom DeLonge alongside Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker in over a decade. Check it out below via Apple Music and Spotify.
DeLonge left Blink in 2014, as the band was preparing to record the follow-up to their 2011 album Neighborhoods. Hoppus and Barker released two albums, California and Nine, with the singer-guitarist’s replacement, Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio. The pop-punk veterans announced the return of DeLonge last year with the single “Edging,” then recorded One More Time… during their reunion tour. Given their history, it makes sense that the group said the record covers “themes of tragedy, triumph, and most importantly, brotherhood.”
Produced by Barker, One More Time… also features the singles “More Than You Know,” “Dance with Me,” and “Fell in Love,” as well as its title track.

Ethan Hawke and Maya Hawke are just a couple of over 20 musicians who’ve contributed to Light in the Attic & Friends, a covers compilation that’ll be released for Record Store Day’s annual Black Friday event. As a preview, the father-daughter actor duo have shared their rendition of Willie Nelson’s “We Don’t Run,” featuring production from Christian Lee Hutson and mixing by Jay Som’s Melina Duterte.
Considering the delicate indie folk Maya releases on her own, it’s not too much of a surprise that Nelson’s classic outlaw country would be a staple of the Hawke household while she was growing up: “This song is off Willie’s brilliant album Spirit, which has been a mainstay in our home since it was released in 1996,” Ethan said in a statement. “Everybody needs a good anthem song. This is one of the best.”

Monsters of California trailer: sci-fi film directed by Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge gets October release
Sixteen months have passed since we saw a teaser trailer for the sci-fi adventure Monsters of California, which marks the feature directorial debut of Tom DeLonge, the guitarist and co-lead vocalist in the band Blink-182. At that time, we had no idea when Monsters of California was going to be making its way out into the world… but now we do. The film is set to receive a theatrical and VOD release on October 6th, and with that date less than a month away a full trailer has arrived online. You can check it out in the embed above.
DeLonge’s interest in UFOs, the paranormal, cryptids, and conspiracy theories is very well known, and his research in those areas was put to use when crafting the story for Monsters of California with co-writer Ian Miller. The film follows teenager Dallas Edwards and his misfit friends as they attempt to...

Blink 182 musician Tom DeLonge is channeling his passion for UFOs and extraterrestrial activity into a feature film, titled Monsters of California and releasing this October.
Gizmodo shares the official trailer for Monsters of California this morning – you’ll have to hit up Gizmodo to watch it – and they’ve announced an October 6 release date as well.
On that date, the film releases in theaters as well as On Demand platforms at home.
This might surprise you given Tom DeLonge has never directed a feature film before but Monsters of California looks Excellent, and it’s clear from the trailer alone that DeLonge has a serious talent for filmmaking. It looks like he poured absolutely all of himself into this one, even using the classic Blink 182 song “Aliens Exist” to bring nostalgic gravitas to the trailer.
Honestly, as a massive fan of Blink 182 growing up, the song usage sent chills up and down my spine.

Blink-182 have postponed four dates on the European leg of their massive reunion tour after drummer Travis Barker flew home to the United States to deal with “an urgent family matter.”
The pop-punk veterans shared the news through a statement posted on social media, writing, “Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States. The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed. More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available.”
No further details were shared, but Barker recently posted photos of a prayer room on his Instagram Story. Earlier this summer, his wife, Kourtney Kardashian, revealed she was pregnant at a Blink-182 show by recreating a scene from their video for “All of the Small Things.”
At the time of publishing, Blink-182’s upcoming UK concerts in October are set to take place as scheduled.

Near, far, wherever you are, you’ll soon be able to watch Titanic with a Netflix subscription. Perhaps in response to some relevant current events, James Cameron’s 1997 blockbuster is coming back to the streamer on July 1st, HuffPost reports.
Though Netflix hasn’t confirmed any connection, the timely news of Titanic’s return to Netflix arrives just days after the US Coast Guard found remains of the Titan, a submersible that was carrying five passengers down on a fatal expedition to explore the Titanic’s wreck site. Cameron himself traveled to the very same spot over 33 times while creating his maritime epic, and told ABC News that he thought that “warnings went unheeded” regarding the Titan, which was built precariously and driven by a PlayStation controller.
Cameron explained: “Many people in the community were very concerned about this sub, and a number of the top players in the deep...

Hamish Harding’s stepson, Brian Szasz, attended a concert while his Harding is currently missing on the Titanic expedition submersible.
Szasz has been widely criticized for his actions, as many see him as insensitive while his stepdad faces death at the bottom of the Atlantic.
He defended his actions on Instagram in a story post saying, “Yes I went to @blink182 last night. What am I supposed to do sit at home and watch the news? Not sorry this band has helped me through hard time since 1998.”
He originally posted about the concert on Facebook captioning the photo, “It might be distasteful being here but my family would want me to be at the blink-182 show as it’s my favorite band and music helps me in difficult times!”
This post was recently deleted. “For privacy, my mom asked me to delete all related posts thanks for the support,” he wrote.

Skrillex, Four Tet, and Fred again.. have been announced as Coachella’s surprise Sunday night headliners alongside Blink-182. The acts are playing in place of original headliner Frank Ocean, who bowed out earlier this week.
The electronic artists will play at 10:25 p.m. following a 7:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. set from Blink-182,. What’s more, they’ll perform in the round on the satellite stage of the main Coachella Stage — a section originally meant to house the ice rink Ocean planned to use during his Weekend 1 set. There won’t be ice when the trio perform, though.

2023 marks another year where the Academy Awards have shuttered horror from the competition, but genre fans know better than to expect anything less. Although there have always been exceptions in the past, such as "The Exorcist," "The Fly," and "Get Out," the Oscars' track record speaks for itself. But the truth is that horror folks don't really need the attention of the prestigious awards body when they have a better outlet to see their favorites receive some industry recognition.
If you're a horror nerd, then the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards is where you want to be paying attention. Although the famed magazine started this back in the '90s, it's only been in the past few years that they've started making it a yearly tradition. On top of that, the one-hour ceremony, which usually airs on Shudder, is curated for horror folks by horror folks. Where else are you going to...

Avril Lavigne revisited her breakout hit “Complicated” for a performance on the Japanese YouTube channel, “The First Take.”
As the channel’s name suggests, the point of the video series is to get artists to perform a song in just one take (Harry Styles appeared earlier this summer, doing a rendition of “Boyfriends”). Backed only by an acoustic guitar, Lavigne gamely embraced the challenge and breezed through the 2002 classic with plenty of ease.

The wonderful thing about ranking articles is that they’re a safe space where everyone feels confident and happy in sharing their favourites without fear of unexamined bilious ejaculations, in the understanding that everyone’s tastes are different, and it’s only Doctor Who for God’s sake. It’s not like someone dies if we don’t like ‘Inferno’.
Similarly, fandom responded to Russell T. Davies’ innovations and expansions to Doctor Who with calm and measured articulations of their likes and dislikes, and no shrill hyperbole written in blinkered rage and 2am on Outpost Gallifrey. This author definitely didn’t.
It wasn’t always going to be this way. Most pitches and attempts at continuing Doctor Who after its 1989 cancellation were aiming for a cult BBC Two or post-watershed BBC One audience because it was considered Science-Fiction first and a family show second,...

Indie artist foulperalta has gone viral for his tongue-in-cheek take on retro band tees, reimagining the musical artists with pop culture characters and memes. The artist’s “Spicoli Cobain” tee, which juxtaposes Sean Penn’s character from Fast Times at Ridgemont High with the iconic Nirvana logo, may be his best-known piece, but there are dozens of other designs available to buy now.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker's star-studded wedding ceremony was one that will live on forever and ever. Megan Fox, fiancé Machine Gun Kelly and Barker's Blink-182 bandmate Mark Hoppus were just a few of the many special guests who got all dressed up in their Sunday best to see Kravis exchange vows on May 22 in a lavish wedding ceremony in Portofino, Italy. "Dad never thought I was crazy!" Cartel & To The Stars has revealed a teaser trailer for a mysterious sci-fi thriller project titled Monsters of California, arriving sometime later this year. This has a vintage look and feel, referencing the kind of low-budget sci-fi movies they don't make anymore. Marking the directorial debut of rocker Tom DeLonge (of Blink 182 and Angels & Airwaves), Monsters of California follows the teenager Dallas Edwards and his misfit friends as they attempt to unearth answers to a series of mysterious, paranormal events happening around Southern California. They soon begin to unravel the extraordinary secrets held within the deepest levels of the Government. The film stars Richard Kind, Casper Van Dien (Johnny Rico!!), Arianne Zucker, Camille Kostek, Gabrielle Haugh, Jack Samson, Jared Scott, and Jack Lancaster. This doesn't look half bad, but there's so much going on in this teaser it's a bit hard to make any sense of it.
