Florida Gore: 90's Style
Tromafreak26 July 2008
The first thing I noticed about Tim Ritter's Creep is all the trippy colors, that were seemingly only there to mask the unfortunate looks of that stripper, Kascha played by Kathy Willets. Kascha has a brother named Angus, played to perfection by the legendary, Joel D. Wynkoop. Angus is a serial killer who was in jail for armed robbery, and he recently escaped. Angus hooks up with his sister, together they kill her abusive husband. Meanwhile, a pair of Father and daughter cops are on their trail, but Angus and Kascha don't seem too concerned, they just want to go play in there mothers grave site, both were abused by their sadistic/drug-addicted parents, so I guess that would kind of make sense. At this point, all I can say is, things won't end up like anything resembling what you might think. And just nevermind the fact that Creep was shot on video, as this movie totally rises above. Creep is incredibly fast-paced, and unpredictable, with a decent script tolerable acting (as if it matters). Let's just say, Creep really keeps you on your toes. As politically incorrect as it wants to be, Creep includes such hi jinx as cocaine in the baby food, the humiliation and murder of a fat man, more than enough references to incest to go around, and even our pal, Asbestos Felt drops in for a visit, it's Floridian fun for the whole family, courtesy of Twisted Illusions. Wynkoop does a great job at adding the perfect combination of sleazy and psychotic to the character of Angus, although, Ritter could have done better at casting Kascha. For a much better Tim Ritter Movie, check out Killing Spree, but if you're looking for something more mean-spirited, then Creep it is. I'm sure I would like this a lot more if it weren't shot on video and would probably rate it higher. Anyone who shoots their films on video knows they have to try even harder to impress the viewer (Darkness, Shatter-Dead) I, for one, am fairly impressed. This is modern Exploitation, straight out of the 60's Drive-in. Long live Florida Gore. 7/10

Cla-SICK sleaze
bug_fanatic197912 September 2005
Tim Ritter's CREEP is a movie for people who love low budget sleaze films! This is the kind of movie that was destined to be a drive in classic had it not came along long after the drive in's had their day.

The movie is basically about a psycho brother and sister and a Dirty Harry/Death Wish inspired female cop (who also happens to be really hot!). CREEP is kind of like a Natural Born Killers style movie at times with lots of weird angle and cutting. I won't go into any real details because it would spoil the fun of this movie. Just take my word for it that there are lots of twists and turns in this one and everything is in BAD TASTE!! This is not for the PC crowd.

Joel Wynkoop (the Ed Wood of acting and my favorite b-movie actor) is having a ball in this film! He gets with a lot of pretty ladies who don't mind taking their clothes off! This movie gets a A+ on the nudity and violence alone! I'd give it an A+ on the storyline as well as it's very well crafted and full of weird characters and situations.

There is one problem with CREEP and it's a big one!!!!!! The DVD of CREEP is cut to hell!! I saw the original version and I know there was a lot of stuff I remember missing from the DVD release. Why a sleaze cla-SICK like CREEP would be cut down for it's DVD release is a mystery to me. The best thing to do is to try to find a copy of the old VHS. It's worth the search!

A more apt title would be Crap.

Warning: Spoilers
I expected a little out of this; I love Tim Ritter's Killing Spree, and kinda liked Truth or Dare. But this is such a stinker it deserves a courtesy flush.

The movie starts off with Angus fleeing from a crashed police car. He gets chased a little by a cop, but gets away pretty easily. We get introduced to a female cop who constantly has flashbacks of her mother being attacked. She gets assigned to catching Angus. Angus makes his way to a couple in a car out in the woods. The girl leaves to go relieve herself, and Angus kills the guy and steals his clothes. He then kills the girl and hangs her in a crucifixion type pose. He steals the car and goes to find his sister, Kascha (or something like that). Kascha has an abusive "boyfriend", and Angus wants him done with. He meets the fat slob, and stabs him in the stomach. The FBI takes over the case, saying that Angus is the most prolific serial killer in history, with over 300 murders. Angus goes to his mother's grave site, digs her up and curses her for dying before he could kill her. Him and his sister have sex and then he kills her too. He goes to a pawn shop and robs it, and after burns the owner's face. The FBI gets closer to catching him; meanwhile, the female cop finally realizes that the person who attacked and killed her mom was her own father, who for some reason has teamed up with Angus. Angus kills the father but gets stopped by the female police officer.

This movie is absolutely abysmal, I am a lover of bad movies but this is just flat out terrible. There really isn't gore, just bad looking blood and a Papier-mâché head. As expected there really isn't any acting in this, Kathy Willets seems bored and probably hates every scene she's in. Joel Wynkoop does a better job, but still can't act at all. This movie just exists, as a big, stinking pile on Tim Ritter's name. There's nothing good in it, and it's too bad to be funny. Watch this if you want to waste some of your life.

Incredibly bad movie
dmuel8 June 2005
This movie is so bad, so cheaply shot, so poorly acted and written that it's amazing it was ever made. Some scenes provoke howls they are so stupid, but there are far too few to bother watching this atrocious piece of garbage. If this were one-tenth as lurid and provocative as it was meant to be it would be well worth viewing. But, you can't make a movie with a budget you lifted out of your kid's piggy bank. In some of the scenes you can tell the video was shot in some low-rent neighborhood. They didn't even try to keep some of the neighbors out of the picture. It should be a crime to make movies this bad, it cheats people out some of their lives spent watching it. Well hope that's enough lines for IMDb, this flick isn't worth more than two lines. Thumbs WAY down.

Great Low budget Flick
pig_7123 February 2003
Man, this movie isn't for everybody, but if you like low-budget, gore-exploitaion flicks, this is classic. It has gore, moves pretty fast, but to me it is a dark tale so it isn't super fast-fun filled flick. But if you like this kinda stuff, check it out.

Landed in Jupiter - Look what I found
Dr. Gore24 April 2004
Warning: Spoilers
*SPOILER ALERT* *SPOILER ALERT*

I bought this one from a video store in Jupiter, Florida. The store was having an inventory reduction sale. I bought "Creep" along with a handful of other movies for about thirty bucks. The guy behind the counter looked at "Creep" and then looked at me and said, "You know the story behind this movie?" No, I said, what's the scoop? "You see the lady on the cover with the huge knockers? She was busted for prostitution back in the 90's. It was a famous case in Florida. Somehow [director] Tim Ritter got her to be in his movie. Yeah, Ritter lives around here. He's from Jupiter." Wow, I said, I didn't know that this was a locally made movie. I looked at the video box cover again and saw a bleached blonde with huge knockers getting strangled from behind by some drooling lunatic. As if that image wasn't enough to get me excited, now I had the full back story on this B-flick to get my heart pumping. I was ready for some "Creep".

So my brother pops over the other day and we decide to give "Creep" a whirl. "Creep" is the story of Angus the nutbag and his desire to kill people. Angus goes to visit his sister who happens to be a stripper. She was the woman on the cover, (Kathy Willets), that the guy in the video store was talking about. She looked good to me although my brother was less impressed. "Oh God, she's hideous! Don't fall for the fake breasts! Any of the other women in the movie were better looking!"

So Angus kills people while Willets and her large, fantastic, fake breasts bounce in your face. Some other women get naked as well. "Creep" is truly for the die hard B-sleaze lover. Any normal moviegoer would have a heart attack watching it. It was shot on video and looks cheap and tacky. I would give it a 4/10 only because of plentiful fake breasts and blood. If you're a B-fiend, you should check it out.

"CREEP" - A BIG THUMBS UP!
tie19854 November 1999
All hail to the Prince of low-budget video, the Duke of twisted storytelling and the King of gore-on-a-budget! Tim Ritter's outrageous horror-fest CREEP delivers! Kathy Willets and Joel D. Wynkoop play savage killers in this sexually twisted and graphically shocking story. Patricia Paul plays a convincing role as the stressed-out cop drawn into this sick affair. CREEP is filled with some of the most innovative twists and shocking turns of events. The story flows smoothly with each passing scene, until the climactic and STUNNING finale. Skillfully written and masterfully shot, Tim Ritter continues to prove that he is one of the better young directors in the no-budget industry. CREEP is sure to be considered one of the all-time favorites at this level! ***

Bad, but not BAD
blurnieghey31 October 2021
I agree with the other positive reviews of this film, as Creep is actually quite good for a film of this caliber. Generally, when I see the camcorder-grade video quality and lack of budget, I'm prepared to grade on a curve if I don't outright hate it, as low-budget films had definitely gone completely down the tubes even by 1995. Happily, Creep does several things right that other films of a similar nature can't seem to figure out. For one, it was decently shot and tells the a story with the camera instead of feeling like you're watching video surveillance footage with a soundtrack. The actors can't act but took the trouble to get into their characters and it's enough to pull it off in decent fashion. There are also some genuinely funny moments and one-liners and a plot twist that I honestly didn't see coming. Really not too shabby and it manages to stand on its own and even passes up chances for torture and nudity assuming, correctly, that it didn't need it, while most movies like this need it just to keep the viewer from falling asleep. The ending didn't thrill me, but I appreciated the effort that went into this one and wish there were more like it.
