Speculation is always fun. Especially with top tier projects, it’s enjoyable to let your imagination take over. Even more so with the James Bond franchise, who doesn’t love designing your ideal 007 film? Picking the actor (or actress) to take up the mantle, selecting a director, etc. It all is like fantasy sports, and I dig it as well. Producers currently are doing this for real though, as Bond 25 (though it will be called something else by the time it comes out, obviously) is slowly coming into the world. The pieces are beginning to come together, and that’s what we’ll be going over today. Order up a martini (shaken, not stirred) and let us get on with it… With the official announcement coming recently that Daniel Craig is back, attention can be turned towards the empty director’s chair. Sam Mendes is no longer handling those duties,...

Despite the fact that Homeland‘s Peter Quinn was last seen crossing over to the proverbial light in the Season 5 finale, Rupert Friend is returning for Season 6 as a full-fledged series regular — but how? And to what surprising end?
RelatedHomeland Officially Renewed for Seasons 7 and 8 at Showtime
Previously, showrunner Alex Gansa had teased, “How [Quinn] is gonna be dramatized this year is going to surprise people, and it may not be what you think.” Appearing on Thursday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, he elaborated — some.

Let me start this off by saying this: I am far off from being the most religious person in the world. I was born almost as far down south as one can physically go in this country, but thanks to my parent’s laissez-faire attitude toward religion and church (god bless ‘em), the same belief system was instilled in me. I may believe in something, I may not, but first and foremost I don’t judge anyone who devoutly follows religion (thanks again, mom and dad) and subsequently may be looking forward to NBC’s A.D. The Bible Continues (a continuation of their mini-series The Bible, if you didn’t pick up on that).
Christianity may be ubiquitous, but the religion has been the subject of a few Hollywood-level stinkers over the years,...

"Metrico," a new puzzle-platformer from Digital Dreams, was announced earlier this year as a Ps Vita exclusive. Two-dimensional puzzle-platformers are a dime a dozen, but "Metrico" stood out on the strength of its graphic design and the promise that its puzzles would be based on "actively changing data and how that can be visualized."
Today, the Dutch indie studio behind the game is expanding on its mechanics a bit, by introducing "input morphing."
Each piece of the environment in "Metrico" is tied to some statistic or piece of data collected about your playthrough. When that data changes, the environment changes. For example: an outcropping might get longer for every projectile you fire, but a different ledge might shrink with every step you take. The number of times you've died might govern the size of a gap in the terrain.
Here's level designer Roy van de Mortel in his own words:...

The trailer for the next numbered sequel (that's somehow tied to "Ground Zeroes") shows off the new Fox Engine and hospital-based stealth action.
Fire, pain, and doom are what this first trailer for "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" is selling. Previously teased as the enigmatic "The Phantom Pain" by Kojima Productions, the "Guns of the Patriots" followup (presumably) involves Big Boss suffering some kind of intense physical trauma that leaves him minus one arm and out of commission for nine years. Throughout, visions of supernatural, almost Revelations-sized bosses seem to assault the one-eyed stealth agent, but what does it all mean?
Peppered with scenes from last year's "Ground Zeroes" trailer, which will serve as a prologue to "The Phantom Pain," according to Konami, the game takes up after the fall of Mother Base, but instead of some grand, global action story, it appears that this one will be...

Two more names have been added to the cast of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty: Kathryn Hahn and Josh Charles (photo) will be joining actor-director Ben Stiller, Kristen Wiig, Adam Scott, Patton Oswalt, and Shirley MacLaine in the 20th Century Fox production. Hahn is to play Stiller's sister in the movie. Charles will play Wiig's ex-husband. Among Kathryn Hahn's movies are two box-office bombs starring Paul Rudd, Wanderlust and My Idiot Brother. Hahn also had roles in the Kate Winslet-Leonardo DiCaprio drama Revolutionary Road, the Will Ferrell comedy Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, and in Robert Shaye's family drama The Last Mimzy. Among Josh Charles' movie credits are Peter Weir's Oscar-nominated Dead Poets Society, Pie in the Sky, S.W.A.T., and Weakness. On television, Charles is a The Good Wife regular. But he probably won't get him. Still...isn't pretending fun?
The other day, we reported about the return of the Blade Runner franchise. Well then it was uncertain in which direction the film would go, we now know what vibe the director is aiming for. And his futile dreams that he will never succeed.
i09 has the scoop on this particular topic. When asked who he would like to see direct the film if he had a "pie in the sky" choice, producer Andrew Kosove had this to say:
"Pie in the sky? Yeah our friend Chris Nolan who we did Insomnia [with] would be in the pie in the sky for us."
Kosove goes on to say:
"To be clear I think what Chris Nolan did — and to be clear, we cannot remake Blade Runner. As a legal matter, we have not bought the remake rights we have no interest...

So, they’re making a Blade Runner prequel. Or sequel. Or companion piece. Or something. Whatever it is, Alcon Entertainment producer Andrew Kosove wants all your frothing fanboys to know this [thanks to /Film, via iO9]:
We don’t know, we just don’t know yet. When we know, we’ll let you know. We don’t know yet it’s too early. The only way to answer that is to say that we will have a process where we will hear hear different ideas from writers or from potential directors who we will bring in, in combination with the writers, before determining. We could be open to either a prequel or a sequel.
They don’t know what it is, but it’s something. That’s for sure. And why not? Ridley Scott remains one of the most popular and sought-after directors alive – and now his classic movies are up for grabs. (Since...

As you probably already know [1], Warner Brothers-based production company Alcon Entertainment recently purchased the rights to make prequels or sequels to the classic 1982 Ridley Scott film Blade Runner. They can't remake the film, thankfully, but they can make films in that world. However, because that world is so revered, the producers have been very open in discussing their plans [2], trying to ease the minds of fans potentially out for blood. In one of those discussions with io9, Alcon producer Andrew Kosove was asked who his "pie in the sky" dream director for a prequel would be. His answer was the most obvious, awesome, they'd-never-get-him-in-a-million-years name out there: Christopher Nolan. But maybe that's not as crazy as you'd think. Read more after the jump. It goes without saying that any producer, studio, actor, best boy, key grip, etc. would love to work with Nolan. His track record is exemplary and he's making groundbreaking,...
