a Mystery with no mystery.
triple829 May 2005
Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS THROUGHOUT: The main problem with this movie wasn't the cast. It's a pleasure to see Nancy Mckeon who is quite likable here in the main role of a woman framed for the murder of her boss. And the rest of the cast does well to with what they've got. But the problem to me, was the story itself.

The movie shows us who the killer is so there is no mystery to unravel. The rest of the movie is spent as Mckeon tries to prove her innocence(it seems things happen just to make her look guilty.) The person who did it, another female and a colleague of the murder victim, seems to appear for one purpose and that's framing Nancy's character and murdering more people. But since the audience knows who the real killer is, knows she will eventually be caught(hey-this is a movie) and also knows stuff will continue to happen to make Nancy's character look guilty there really aren't a lot of-well actually any-surprises. It's pretty dull and I'd have preferred a genuine who done it. The cast, as mentioned is fine, but this is a mystery with very little mystery and as such, while not being awful, isn't terribly interesting and falls a bit flat.

unexceptional

There's nothing really wrong with this film, except that it is not particularly involving. It's not quite boring, but almost. Nothing to recommend it; nothing exceptional or memorable about it.

Poor Acting Good Story
Evaluator19 December 2006
I think the title just about sums it up. I recently saw this movie, the acting is a bit slacked, the general performance of the stars are slightly amateur. However the I found the story to be well and different things kept happening with lots of running around, which is probably the only reason I kept watching it. You get that feeling where you know it isn't the best movie, but you want to find out what happens next and in movies like these you want to stay until the end or it'll be later on you'll link I wander what happened with that movie. At certain parts of the movie I felt myself trailing off into thought. it's enough to just keep you there, but that's it. If your tired and you start watching this, there is a good chance that your going to pass out. I wouldn't be entertaining anyone with this movie for concern of the response I would get.

Doesn't seem like one to be theatrically released

Like most people who probably saw this one, I saw in on the Lifetime network. This one stars Nancy McKeon as Melanie, who's framed for killing her boss. McKeon does an excellent job in this movie, and her hair doesn't look that bad. However, this one seems as though it was made for TV and probably didn't do well commercially in the big cities. Now it can be seen on Lifetime, where the fact that the title contains the word "woman" is enough to get this one airtime. Bottom line, this is one Lifetime circulated movie NOT to be shown in health class.
