Good enough film from the Queen of TV
jamiecostelo588 November 2006
And the moral of this story is: trust no-one! A simple film with a simple script and good enough performances, My Very Best Friend is more of a soapy thriller than most. However, the lovely Jaclyn Smith is certainly enjoying her role as Dana, an attractive middle aged woman who will stop at nothing to get what she wants. I admit it's great to see Ms Smith in a sort of 'bad girl' role, and she and Jill Eikenberry share a good chemistry; they should work together again.

Admittedly, My Very Best Friend will in no doubt appeal to admirers of Jaclyn Smith (like myself) even if it is not one of her better TV movies. It's a film that is let down with its slow pacing and dull feel. Nevertheless, it has a certain charm about it. 5/10

Your best friend can be your worst enemy

Beautiful ex-model Dan Griffin (Jaclyn Smith) has always been used to the best of everything - and wants to keep it that way. So when super-rich business tycoon Ted Marshall (Tom Mason) proposes marriage Dania's life of a luxurious life seems to have come true. But as the tissue of lies she has created to keep her man falls apart and disaster strikes, Dana turns to her oldest friend Barbara Wilkins (Jill Eikenberry) to help rebuild her life.

Excellent Psycho Drama......

Jaclyn Smith is definitely having a good time being "bad" on the small screen. She reminds me of Gene Tierney's character in the classic film "Leave Her To Heaven.

Smith is always a capable performer and this is one of her best. Acting wise, this is a top notch. Not only fans of Smith will enjoy this film but also fans of this genre.

For the fans, there's some shots in the opening credits of Smith's "real" magazine covers from Vogue, etc..., well, she played a former model who must have everything even the love for her best friend's husband.

Final verdict : Gorgeously Evil .......
