At the end of the film when James Dunn is watching the news in the TV repair shop, you see both Keenen Ivory Wayans and his stunt double next to each other. He's wearing a Olive Green satin jacket in which Wayans utters "You look just like that guy" as the films' final punchline.
This was the third consecutive action film which Keenen Ivory Wayans had starred in. The others include A Low Down Dirty Shame in 1994 and The Glimmer Man co-starring Steven Seagal in 1996.
This film reunites Jon Voight and Eric Roberts, since their collaboration in Runaway Train (1985), in which Voight was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor, while Roberts was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
Originally, Keenan Ivory Wayans had intended to direct the film but due to problems on "The Glimmer Man" forced him to choose another director. However, after filming had started in August 1996, that director was replaced by David Glenn Hogan after Wayans had seen his work on "Barb Wire" which caused a slight delay.
Both Paul Sorvino and Jill Hennessy starred in the NBC series "Law & Order" Sorvino starred in one full season in 1991 - 1992, but left early in the 1992 -1993 season because the cold weather of location in New York City was affecting him and was replaced by Jerry Orbach. Hennessy would be on the show for three seasons starring in 1993 until 1996, when she decided to leave the show to pursue a movie career and this was one of the first projects that she chose to star in along with "A Smile Like Yours" which was also released in 1997.
