Sick of the divisiveness...
MarieGabrielle4 October 2010
Barbara Walters, when interviewed by Larry King is articulate and interesting. Whoopi is talented and has interesting ideas. Joy is a bit intrusive, but can be entertaining and funny. The reality "Survivor" girl is no talent and placed there to create tension, deliberately.

Why oh why do we need more arguing and hateful TV?. People are sick of it. The news these days is too depressing to even tune in. The popularity of this show is declining. Walters is a talented interviewer, why does she want to be on such an abrasive show that accomplishes nothing.

TV "entertainment" needs to be improved by more astute and talented directors. Personally I am sick of hearing about trash reality TV, Michael Bolton, "DWTS" and other reality trash that will be gone in five years.

Please, ladies don't insult your own intelligence, or the audience. American audiences have had enough.

I've taken in The View and Don't like what I see
jaiami25 December 2013
I don't normally watch daytime TV since I work days, but I have from time to time, over the years, watched several episodes of The View. At first, it comprised of experienced journalists, a respected attorney, and a stand-up comedian. The discussions were intelligent, thought-provoking and enjoyable. It soon morphed into 3 stand-up comedians, a has-been TV journalist, and Elizabeth H. (whatever she is or claims to be). The discussions were loud, ill-informed, and mean-spirited. The panel seemed more interested in arguing than providing any semblance of meaningful discourse. Obviously, the show's producers didn't think much of their audience to dumb down a once promising talk show so severely. Now, all stand-up comedians (although Barbara is usually sitting). The show is too loud, too abrasive, and totally irrelevant. I couldn't get through 10 minutes of it. Although you can draw a parallel to the far superior and extremely great, great show Breaking Bad: watch as the good show goes terribly, terribly wrong.

I want to hear everyone's views.
rdriscoll-2109112 May 2023
I know that the ladies mostly hold liberal viewpoints. I am not always opposed to their views. However, sometimes I do disagree and want to hear each side of the issue.

When anyone holds a differing opinion and tries to express it on this program, they are interrupted so much so that I cannot hear what they are trying to say. This is very annoying.

Sunny Hostin is particularly bad about interrupting anyone who does not agree with her. I know she is a lawyer and has been trained to interrupt and upstage her opponents. However, this is not the place to use her skills.

I would like to hear all the comments and not just loudest and most rude of the co- hosts.

This show is unwatchable.

I try to be open minded. I will watch almost anything and try to see the those who think differently than I do. This show offers nothing when it comes to productive dialogue. I have 2 teenage boys and shows like this make me fear for their future.

the view of people who are stupid as hell
plargreg16 December 2018
This show is absolute garbage, if you watch it you are wasting your time and brain cells. I can't even believe it's still on the air, the ONLY person i've ever seen watch it was noone as it played at my physical therapy office on the background tv because with all the mindless chattering going on they thought it was new age white noise.

Fake news on crack
acedj30 March 2020
I used to love Whoopie. Back in her days of doing stand-up and acting she was great. The rest of the women on here I never had a lot of exposure to, however none of what I ever saw on this extremely left leaning show makes me want to like any of them. Never have I seen a talk show where the hosts will yell at, belittle and refuse to listen to the guests they invite on, if that guest has a contrary opinion. People wonder what is wrong with the world, this show is a shining example. At least on Jerry Springer the fights were fake....

Who gave these people this show?
plargreg16 December 2018
If there was a god in heaven this show would be taken off the air and all footage burned in a fantastic bonfire. The least intelligent and least qualified people are given the task of telling whoever has the displeasure of watching what to think and we get the results woo hoo, thank you tv!

Why are they still here
gamecocks12 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I don't really know how this show is on the air, not by its obvious unpopularity, but by the fact that most of the women said they were leaving the country.if Trump won. Still waiting for that. Long ago this show should have been renamed The Slanted View. The spoilers here are these unhappy, biased, washed up women who have chips on their shoulders for NO good.reason.

i'm shocked by the low rating
ThunderKing63 September 2020
I thought I was the only one that hated the view/the talk.

It turns out me and my enemies hate the same things.

Anytime I have to pass through the living room with this show on, I rush for my headphones so that I don;'t have to listen to it.

The show is cringe, unrealistic, biased and over the top liberal.

The Hosts steer you into agree with their views, then they have the audience clap to help reinforce an opinion or side.

It's the same as the Talk. A bunch of liberal women talking about junk in a very nice way.

Whether Eve is on this show or the other one its funny how a gangster chick can turn into a liberal passive lady just to please Caucasian middle-aged liberals.

Verdict: Just don't watch this show. It will kill your brain cells.

Why is this even still on TV, it's a bunch of misinformed, inflated has-beens yelling over each other as they make up stuff on the spot to try and sound smart (they failed 100% of the time). Do civilization a favor cancel this show and destroy all footage of it so noone has to waste their time ever agin

toilet television

My mom is a big fan of this show. Every time its on she has to watch it. Every once in a while I catch a glimpse of it and it disgusts me every time I catch it. 4 women all sit around and talk about the stupid and most pointless things I've ever heard. They don't cover (well, at least not anymore) the smart or important issues. All they discuss about are stupid jokes and sexual innuendo that makes you want to shoot the T.V. Not to mention every time it is on, it seems like one of the women always has to mention something about the male part (you know). You don't have to go to prison to suffer. Hell, just watch this show. I ran out of things to say so I'm going to name names for this show. Not important; mindless; pointless; annoying; stupid;

In need of a Revamp, Rejuvenation, and Reworking- and Fast
NovakMonkey262813 July 2006
The View began as a fascinatingly fresh and new kind of morning show in 1997, with a collection of intelligent, successful, and vivacious women who could reflect upon current events with thought. Their "views" were varied and multi-layered, and provided unbiased television to wake us up.

In recent years, The View has become less about the virtues of its women and more about their rise to fame. As Meredith, Star, Joy, and Barbara (the four women who, until recently, stuck out 2000 episodes of the gab fest) reaped the benefits of their obviously popular show, the audience became at once disenchanted and guiltily curious. As new co hosts entered and exited, the women morphed into glossy products of the show, viewpoints became less varied and more rigid, tensions rose and The View entered into a frivolous time period of self-congratulations. All this culminating in the recent blow-out- a face lift from the network, firing Star Jones, the exit of Meredith Viera, and the hiring of Rosie O'Donnell. Viewers reached an opportunity to see these women outside of The View use their wills to say what they could never be say on ABC. Now, viewers tune in to see what's next for the show's cast- whose safe (Barbara), whose not (Elisabeth and maybe Joy), if Rosie is in or out, and if they will ever mention Star again.

In other words, viewers no longer tune in for the show but in curiosity of its politics. Sure, that means there are still ratings for The View, but fickle ones- the show has a morbidly scandalous cloud over it in recent weeks. And once the show settles down, and probably rises to even more self-congratulating heights, the fan ship will die down steadily.

That is why, while ABC still has viewer-ship, The View is in need of a serious and quick reworking. Starting off by taking a fresh look at the cast- and if all three women (meaning Joy, Elisabeth, and Rosie- Barabara is clearly off limits) are really reflective of The View's mission- do they really represent popular facets of American women? New cast members are needed, and it would be advisable not to go ahead with Rosie, as she adds to the show's recent circus act undertone. Secondly, ABC and the women would do well to focus less on the show's business ON the show and in the media, and focus on REAL current events, while really discussing their views, and not just making self-effacing or self-upholding jokes on the matters.

If The View can get through this firestorm, and come back in a fresh way, it will be better then before.

Sick of the attitude there
shelbythuylinh12 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Show was really a great breath of fresh air there. And in that over in the need over in the women view there hence the title. But then they got very nasty there. And really the show has become unbearable there. Joy and Whoopi ruined the show and really both of them make it very unbearable.

Are intelligent women interested In this drivel?
thielgirl8330 April 2019
Are intelligent women interested In this drivel? No way! We are too smart. The View is psycho babble for those who haven't experienced real life, both personal and professional. The program has a liberal bias, and Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar, are wealthy women, hypocrites with an agenda.

Why can't the hosts be neutral and less judgmental with their guests. Kelly Ripa is able to do this, but this crew, no way.

Miserable show!
dpenna32808 February 2020
I've never seen a show where the hosts constantly insult the guests. The guest can't get a word in edgewise, and god forbid if their opinions don't match Behar, (who is the biggest hypocrite and liar of the bunch) look out!

This show is way past its expiration date
jmcd200730 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar are among the most toxic people on daytime TV today. They also have quick tempers that often flare on air. Nearly everything is racist to Whoopi, who is full of hatred, and Joy seems to hate everyone that she comes in contact with unless it's a politician that she likes or another celebrity that agrees with her views. The rest of the co-hosts, whom often seem to rotate, are just filler to the program. Moreover, any topic that they end up discussing usually ends up in a shouting match, likely for ratings and to make the headlines. The panel of hosts also lack a proper balance and this has been obvious since this show's inception. "The Talk" on CBS is of similar quality. Nothing of substance with either program I might add.

With that being said, I'd recommend avoiding shows like this, but if you must watch, I'd recommend using ear plugs and putting a sleep eye mask on beforehand. You'll need both to help get you through this!

Pure evil

I have never watched such pure hate in my life. We get it.....you all hate Trump! But I thought the point of the View is being able to hear everyone's opinion and being open minded. People like these women are why this country is so divided!!!

Awful Program! Very Unwatchable
davidwhite-1492629 July 2019
All the hosts ever do is gripe, fuss, criticize, and moan about very petty things. There are much better programs on television. This program is a waste of time! I have better things to watch! I can't believe this program is still on the air after all these years!

Steadily going down hill
wjewilliams@yahoo.com11 March 2003
This show is going down hill at warp speed. Three years ago, the show was interesting and intelligent, especially their "Hot Topics" segment where hosts Meredith Vieira, Joy Behar, Star Jones, then host Lisa Ling and occasionally the show's den mother, Barbara Walters would comment on newsworthy stories, often exposing a hidden side that had been buried in the pages of the country's newspapers.

Since then, however, it has regressed into a talk show parody, ranking in terms of content somewhere between Maury Povich and Ricki Lake. No matter how serious the subject at hand, the topic quickly turns to sex, Payless Shoes (for which Star Jones is the spokesperson), Joy's hot flashes or Star's celebrity friends. Subjects like war, murder and child abuse are punctuated either by jokes about viagara, or by Star Jones informing everyone of her self-proclaimed diva status -- Again!

Even Babs herself has fallen into the trash talk abyss, only managing to grab a foot hold long enough to shout out a promo for yet another "riveting" 20/20 special.

If it were not for Meredith Vieira, I would boycott this show completely. Only she seems to have the vaguest clue as to when it is appropriate to push the envelope. But each day I find myself turning it off earlier into the broadcast, shaking my head at the vapid, vacuous piece of pseudo entertainment/journalism this show has become. Please Emmy voters, don't encourage this show with an Emmy nod this year.

I'm now a "NEVER KELLY ANN CONWAYer"!!!!!
thecraines24 May 2022
I watch The View almost every day and usually enjoy the differing opinions and viewpoints of the cast and guests. However, today's show with Kelly Ann Conway was the ABSOLUTE WORST episode of the View I've ever seen! The cast (especially Whoopie) made a valiant but unsuccessful effort to control her out-of-control, screetchy rhetoric. I hope they never have her as a guest again.

Sonny Hostin
susangrey-725356 May 2023
I have been a loyal fan of The View since it came on the air. I look forward to watching and often find myself repeating much of what I've heard or learned from the co-host. However for the past several months I don't watch every day due to Sonny's constant reminder that she is a proud black woman, mother to black children, etc.....she alone makes EVERYTHING about race. You don't see the other co-host reference their ethnicity like Sonny. I can appreciate her feelings and opinions but she isn't helping the racial tension that has escalated in our country. Her thoughts on todays show about a black woman marrying a bus drive, well all I can say is Wow....her explanation was lost cuz my only thought was what an incredible stuck up person. Good for you Sarah at your attempt to challenge her on it.

No, "right wing" did not organize a bunch of 1 star reviews. Look at the dates, they all come from different years.
shamzin-351278 April 2022
I was looking at the reviews to see if I should give this show a chance. The one thing I noticed is how often the reviewers who gave this above an 8 had the opinion that some conservatives wasted their time organizing bombing this show with 1 star reviews. So, I looked, and I saw that the 1 star reviews had no similarity in dates at all. They were published any time from 2005 to 2022. No cluster of any similar dates at all. I couldn't even find more then 2 that came in the same week. I even checked the 2 star reviews. Nothing.

The fact that the people who like this show don't have the intellect to check their theories before writing them in their review by doing something so simple as to check the dates, tells me I don't want to watch this. And they call others "conspiracy theorists"??? LOL! What is even funnier is that it looks like we got a bombardment of 15 people who pretty much gave downvotes to any review on this, the Tucker Carlson show, and possibly a few others. But look at the ratings this show; 2.5. So how many people do you think love this show? Not many. And yet, all of a sudden I get this many downvotes? All in a space of 2 days. Projection.
