Wrestlemania week begins tonight with Raw but you can kick it off with the over-the-top gory and insanely fun home invasion slasher Here for Blood, available on all digital platforms and also our Screambox streaming platform.
Here for Blood feels like a ’90s video store discovery that’s brimming with gore and jam-packed with laughs, and has become an instant favorite of mine and our team’s as well. We are certain Bloody Disgusting readers are going to fall in love with this indie gem.
Directed by Daniel Turres, Here for Blood follows a down-on-his-luck wrestler (Shawn Roberts; Albert Wesker in the Resident Evil films) and his girlfriend (Joelle Farrow) who are having a hard time making ends meet. When his girlfriend finds herself overwhelmed by exams, muscle-bound wrestler Tom O’Bannon steps in to cover one of her babysitting gigs.

The next Screambox Original that Bloody Disgusting will be bringing to the table is the pro-wrestling themed horror movie Here for Blood, which will release in theaters, on digital, and streaming exclusively on Screambox just in time for Valentine’s Day, on February 9, 2024.
Heavy metal legend Dee Snider (Strangeland) lends his voice to a decapitated skull in the film, and this exclusive clip gives you a sneak peek at one of Snider’s wackiest roles to date.

Strangeland was one of those random bubblecase VHS horror rentals from the local video store that made you feel like you’d won the lottery. An absolute blind rental that ended up blowing your mind and making you feel like you knew something no-one else was aware of. It had it all. Scares, a kick ass metal soundtrack, the birth of internet horror and Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider (who wrote the film as well) coming off the top rope and shocking the hell out of you with one of the scariest villain performances ever.

Heavy metal fans are confident they know the identity of Doll on The Masked Singer. Doll made his debut on ’80s Night, along with Moose and Scorpio, who were sent home after revealing themselves. Meanwhile, Doll won the night’s King of The Masked Singer title, so his identity remains a mystery. Based on his voice, height, and the clues, though, many Masked Singer viewers are sure Doll is Twisted Sister lead vocalist Dee Snider. Here’s all the evidence.
Doll performs on ‘The Masked Singer’ Season 9 | Michael Becker/Fox Twisted Sister fans recognized Dee Snider’s voice right away when Doll sang on ‘The Masked Singer’

Were you as shocked as we were while watching “The Masked Singer” on March 29 to discover that the celebrity competing as the Doll was a man? When the character first appeared onstage at the start of the 80’s Night episode, we thought it was a woman hiding inside this elaborate costume. Only when we heard the Doll sing “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” by Simple Minds did we realize that we had been duped.
The judges were just as surprised as we were. By the time the Doll sang “Hungry Like the Wolf” by Duran Duran in the Battle Royal against Scorpio, we were focused on figuring out the name of the fellow that had fooled us. We’ve rewatched both of his performances and his clues package. Forget those guesses by them that Doll is Sebastian Bach, Gene Simmons or Donnie Wahlberg. We are sure we’ve know Doll’s true identity.

After the surreal adventure game Strangeland, developer Wormwood Studios are back at it again with a new Kickstarter for Hibernaculum, a Survival Horror RPG with an art style that draws from the biomechanical leanings of H.R. Giger, though not as outright as Scorn. As you might expect, the campaign has already been a success, drawing more than $47,000 US with 23 days left to go.
Hibernaculum is described as a retro-inspired dungeon crawler in the vein of classics such as Eye of the Beholder, but tinged with the “gothic shock” of Horror Soft’s Elvira & Waxworks series. And like all good Survival Horror games, Hibernaculum takes after Resident Evil 2 and System Shock 2 for that component.
The story as it stands sees you on board a ship that is appropriately dark, grimy, and holding mysteries long forgotten. That also includes its inhabitants, which is where the Giger influence comes in. There’s...

Three recent theatrical films infused the VOD market this week, but each took different routes for very different results. Paramount’s “Scream” performed best with a surprising strategy: Debuting at $4.99 after about 45 days in theaters, the franchise reboot skipped a higher-price initial offering. It also comes before the likely imminent streaming release via Paramount+. The film took two of the #1 slots this week.
Vudu, where “Scream” is #1 for the week, ranks by revenue spent. That means it had more than four times as many transactions as #2, “Sing 2” (Universal), which costs $19.99 (lowered this week from $24.99). That’s a strong showing.
“Sing 2” has spent nearly two months on the charts. Still #6 in theaters this weekend, it has been among the top PVOD titles daily since its debut. Along with “Scream,” it is one of four titles to place on all three charts. “Blacklight” (Open Road/$19.99), on PVOD after its third weekend,...

As long as you’re somewhat comfortable with fighting enemies and navigating the game’s sometimes dangerous world, you should find plenty of opportunities to pick up some extra Runes and grow your character in the process.
However, if you’re looking to farm Runes as quickly as possible and level your character as optimally as possible along the way, then here are a few helpful tips that should help you do just that.

No horror fan needs to be introduced to the likes of Robert Englund, a name which in the collective imagery has become synonymous with so many different and varied aspects of the genre that he has left a deep and undeniable mark on. Needless to say, the thread holding together Englund’s celluloid persona is streaked with red and dark green, but the Californian actor could also resonate with many for the work he did with Tobe Hooper; his participation in ’90s items such as Urban Legend (1998), Strangeland (1998), and Wishmaster (1997); his previous work, during a time in which Freddy was still taking shape in the mind of Wes Craven, including Bruce D. Clark’s Galaxy of Terror (1981); or his recurring role as “Willie” in the TV series V (1983–1985).
Some might have discovered him through his more recent campy and grindhouse-inspired flicks like 2001 Maniacs (2005), Zombie Strippers (2008), or The Funhouse Massacre (2015). What...

Keane stopped by The Late Late Show to perform new track “The Way I Feel,” a song off their upcoming fifth album Cause and Effect. The upbeat but emotive tune is the first listen from the album and recently got a stylish music video directed by Kevin Godley. In the performance, the band bring a colorful backdrop and a sense of energy to song.
Cause and Effect will be released September 20th via Island Records. It’s the band’s first album since 2012’s Strangeland and marks their return after a several year hiatus.

In 1999, the sci-fi thriller became an instant pop culture phenomenon and in the years since, its influence on the industry and audiences has endured
When The Matrix came out 20 years ago, the internet was still in its infancy, confined by the limits of dial-up modems, Netscape browsers and the startup discs that EarthLink and AOL tucked in mailboxes across the country. If you wanted to use the internet, you usually had to sacrifice your phone line, and those with constant busy signals were regarded as hopeless shut-ins, like a flannel-swathed Sandra Bullock ordering a pie from Pizza-dot-net. To the extent that films were thinking about the possibilities of online life, they were usually defined by suspicion and terror, such as the Vr corporate sabotage of Disclosure or sick allure of a chatroom sadist in Dee Snider’s StrangeLand. The landscape was changing, but all they could think to do was freak out and disconnect.

The most shocking part of this story: that no one remade "The Howling" before this. Upstart production company Emaji Entertainment has announced that they're "rebooting" Joe Dante's 1981 werewolf classic "as the first in a series of films based upon well known film properties," which is exactly what we need more of. The original film starred the incomparable Dee Wallace as a TV news anchorwoman who is sent to a retreat after a near-fatal encounter with a serial killer and begins to suspect that the residents there may not be what they seem. Spoiler alert: they're hairier than they first appear. The film is notable for being released at a high point for werewolf movies, as John Landis's "An American Werewolf in London" was put out the same year. Both featured groundbreaking transformation sequences -- a 21-year-old Rob Bottin was responsible for the grisly third-act transformation in "The Howling,...

Emaji Entertainment is stepping into the world of werewolves with a reboot of Joe Dante's The Howling and embarking into the realm of the wickedly weird with a reimagining of 1998's StrangeLand, which starred Dee Snider (who also penned the screenplay) as Captain Howdy. The StrangeLand reboot is tentatively titled StrangeLand: Disciple, and Snider looks to be involved with the project.

Serial killers have long been the stuff of which nightmares are made. The serial killer sub-genre of horror has brought us some amazingly memorable characters that still haunt us to this day. On February 19th Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will bring us a new name in fear with The Factory.
Starring John Cusack and Jennifer Carpenter as detectives tracking a murderer, The Factory is set in the bitter cold of a Buffalo winter. A great place to hunt a hunter. And to celebrate the release of this newest addition to the sub-genre, we've compiled a list of the Top 11 Movie Serial Killers.
There is certainly a long list of names to choose from, but we narrowed the field a bit by limiting it to those who were just regular human people. No supernatural involvement here, just a person or group of people who've gone off the deep end and made...

We're all excited for Adam Green and Joe Lynch's upcoming sitcom "Holliston", and as an East Coaster, I'm doubly excited to see a little favoritism when it comes to having the opportunity to check out the first two episodes early.
That's right, Boston folk, head on over to Emerson College on Tuesday night, March 13th at 7:00 Pm for an opportunity to see "Holliston" before it airs. Best of all? Series creator and star Adam Green will be joined by co-stars Joe Lynch, Corri English, and Laura Ortiz as they present not just one, but two episodes of the upcoming sitcom. This event is open to the public, and seating is first-come/first-served. Doors open at 6:30 pm in the Bright Family Screening Room at the Paramount Center on the Emerson College campus.

"You've got the body…I've got the brains." That was the scene that did it for me. We've all got our favorite Freddy Krueger moment ... Nancy in the bathtub, Johnny Depp getting sucked into the bed, the cockroach transformation scene or even "Welcome to prime time, bitch!". But the one that stuck with me was Krueger peeling back the top of his head, revealing a pulsing brain, while reciting that line to a screaming Jesse in A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge.
Thinking back, I can remember sitting in the Gash household with my younger brother (we'll call him Patient Zero), working a remote control that had three buttons and was wired to the Vcr, replaying that scene until the tracking button could no longer control the interference. It was classic.
But whatever your favorite Freddy moment, we have one man to thank for them all. Robert Englund...

A year has passed since we last reported on Dee Snider's Strangeland II: Disciple. At that time the film was set to start shooting in Cleveland and casting had started for extras. Now, however, it looks like the sequel ain't happening.
In response to a fan's question on Twitter as to "whatever happened to Strangeland 2??", Snider stated, "Dead in the water. #soeffingfrustrated."
Considering Twisted Sister frontman turned filmmaker Snider and horror icon Robert Englund were both set to reprise their roles from the original, this is sad news indeed for Strangeland fans.
