The following contains spoilers for Ju-On: Origins.
There are many notable horror franchises to come out of Japan that have made an undeniable mark on the genre, both in their native country and on an international level. The powerful Ju-On/Grudge franchise has been around for over two decades and accrued over a dozen films and additional material that fleshes out this haunting story. The Ju-On series hinges on a simple premise where when a person dies with a deep and powerful rage within them, it births a curse. This idea and the disturbing ghostly characters of Kayako and Toshio have helped Ju-On stand out among the imitators.
While the series has struggled recently in America, Ju-On: Origins marks a six-episode Netflix series from Japan that strives to return to the franchise’s roots. Ju-On: Origins looks at an actress and a paranormal investigator who become obsessed with a cursed...

The “Fargo in England” story, from writer-director Carl Tibbets (Black Mirror) and producer Matthew James Wilkinson (Yesterday) of Stigma Films, charts a series of unfortunate coincidences that bring the overreaching ambitions of a bunch of petty criminals to a nasty end. Bones signs off on Tuesday, after 12 seasons of crime solving, evidence examining, blood, guts and, most importantly, bones. But at the core of the long-running Fox procedural -- the “heart of the matter,” if you will -- was a partnership between forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz).
From their first episode together, Brennan and Booth’s dynamic was electric, and while the will-they-or-won’t-they of it all took nearly seven seasons to sort out (more if you count that they don’t actually tie the knot until season nine), their relationship kept fans hooked for all 245 episodes. We watched Brennan wrestle with her feelings as Booth looked for love, saw them lay it all on the line only to yank it back again, and finally, at long last, got to witness their happy ending. Two kids and countless hurdles later, they’re still going strong.

Broadway became just a little more Broadway this last week as Cats made it's return to the Great White Way. Whether or not you think Cats is a ground breaker or a punch line, one thing is certain, the man behind the music is a living legend. Andrew Lloyd Webber has been an ubiquitous part of any theatre fans experience for decades. From those first chilling organ chords in Phantom which still gets me every time-then again I wore my Phantom T-shirt to have my 8th grade school photos takento the synth pop of Starlight Expressto the irresistible bubble gum goodness of Josephit's hard not to walk out of a Lloyd Webber show not humming the tunes. He's had hits um, Cats is Back, he's had misses The Woman in White he's blazed trails Jc Superstar is arguably the first and finest rock musical and has written a masterpiece of...

It's a quadruple-y excellent evening for Bones fans tonight. Not only do we get an original episode with the airing of "The Mutilation of the Master Manipulator," but we're exactly seven days away from the most highly anticipated Bones episode since "The Woman in White" and "The Conspiracy in the Corpse." Add to that that Fox just released an amazing Bones Infographic that illustrates every single important detail from the first 200 Booth-y hours of Bones-y goodness (which, I'm sorry, but is the coolest Bones-centric thing I've seen in, like, forever) and... and, there are rumors that the possibility of an eleventh season is looking more and more likely every minute. You may now take a moment to quietly explode with glee, Boneheads. And enjoy it, because we are about to endure a winter of bitter discontent until Bones picks up again in Spring.

From The Twilight Zone to Penny Dreadful, Doctor Who and more, Den Of Geek’s writers revisit the TV episodes that truly terrify them…
It’s Halloween! Icicles are glistening from window sills. Chestnuts are roasting on open fires. North Pole elves are… hang on, no. None of that nice, fluffy stuff is happening. At Halloween, demonic creatures hunt for flesh, monsters creep out of their graves, and TV does its level best to freak us all the hell out.
In the spirit of all that, we asked our writers to select and share the TV episodes, horror or otherwise, that have made them whimper with fear. Here they all are, 31 of them, because, well, at Halloween, we like things to add up to 31.
Note that this isn’t a Top 10, or a Best Of, nor is it listed in order of scariness. It’s a collection of the particular...

One of my fondest memories growing up as a young horrorphile was catching as many scary movies and fright-filled specials as I could during the month of October in order to prepare for Halloween night. With the hundreds of channel options out there for viewers these days, I thought it might be fun to break down where genre fans can catch various movies, specials and even Halloween-themed cartoons over the next 31 days so that you can start planning out your viewings in advance.

2013 has been a great year for TV. We saw the introduction of a ton of amazing new series, said goodbye to some of the greatest shows that will ever air, and watched as streaming sites became legitimate networks. But what we really loved (and our rewind buttons hated most)? Watching all of our favorite couples finally give us 'shippers the payoffs we've been waiting for.
It may have taken upwards of eight years for some moments to finally happen, but from kisses, to people sleeping together, to proposals, to weddings, so many of our favorite couples sealed the deal in some way. Here are the 21 best 'shipper payoffs of 2013 ... with video of all the hot, sweet, sexy, romantic, and beautiful moments:

2013 was a good year for television. From "Arrow" to "Orphan Black" to "Game of Thrones" to "Bones," shows across the entertainment spectrum provided fun, emotions and intense shocks. As Zap2it continues its rundown of the best TV episodes of 2013, here are my picks.
Best insanity: 'Orphan Black,' 'Variations Under Domestication'
What can I say? I'm a sucker for a show that goes off the rails like some safety-challenged thrill ride. On "Orphan Black," that happened on the day Alison decided to tie up and torture her husband during a neighborhood potluck party. Sarah, Felix and even Hot Paul get in on the action, creating a microcosm for the combination of energy, comedy and danger that made "Orphan Black" 2013's best new show.
Best pilot: 'The Americans'
Narrowly beating out "The Blacklist" for this honor, "The Americans" wins for introducing a tricky concept (deep-cover Soviet spies during the...

Versatile actor best known for her roles in The Sound of Music and Of Human Bondage
In the Hollywood of the 1940s and 50s, when typecasting was an essential constituent of stardom, Eleanor Parker, who has died aged 91, never gained the recognition she deserved, because she refused to be pigeonholed. "It means I've been successful in creating the characters that I've portrayed – that I'm not just a personality who is seen in a variety of roles." Dana Andrews, her co-star in Madison Avenue (1962), called her "the least heralded great actress".
The 1957 film Lizzie is almost a reflection of her career. Parker plays three separate and distinct characters harboured inside one woman – the shy, self-effacing Elizabeth; the wanton, raunchy Lizzie; and the "normal" Beth – and switches brilliantly from one to the other. Parker was always able to be convincing in these three sorts of characters. She was naive as the girl...

I'm a sucker for weddings. The dress. The vows. The happiness. It all makes me so weepy. And when as many obstacles have been overcome as Booth and Brennan have on Bones, the ceremony is made that much sweeter.
It's been eight seasons in the making and not even a burned down church or a cold case could keep Booth and Bones from getting married.
It wasn't flawless by any means, but "The Woman in White" might go down as one of my favorites in Bones history if only because of the sentimentality of the episode.
For starters, Brennan's nerves felt out of place considering the fact that she's changed her views on marriage because of Booth and how sad she was when she thought it wouldn't happen. Some nerves might be normal, but it felt like yet another time when the writers couldn't remember the ways they've developed the character.

Booth and Brennan got married on "Bones." It's about time.
Some things are inevitable. Death. Taxes. Hodgins having a conspiracy theory. But the big, long-anticipated "Bones" wedding always felt like an iffy prospect. Eight seasons of delays and missed connections made Brennan and Booth's marriage like something out of a dream.
Now it's a reality in "The Woman in White." And it almost seems like this outcome was inevitable. Neither murder nor gambling nor fiery wrath of God could stop the ceremony.

Three seasons after segueing Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) from perpetual will-they-or-won't-they to happy couple, Bones finally married off its two leads during Monday's episode, "The Woman in White." The Fox drama's long flirtation with the dreaded Moonlighting curse no longer a concern, the stable duo tied the knot with little more than the requisite procedural drama -- something that creator Hart Hanson and co-showrunner Stephen Nathan wouldn't have imagined several years ago when so much attention fixed on how to negotiate the stars' chemistry while not derailing their dynamic. The day that Bones fans have been waiting years for has finally arrived -- Brennan and Booth's wedding day! With help from her trusty Matron of Honor, Angela, Brennan has taken to the idea of a more traditional wedding ceremony. And we all know how Booth feels about pigs in a blanket being served at the wedding. I cannot wait to see this extravaganza.
In this week's episode, titled "The Woman in White," a murder may distract our bride from her big day. Will Brennan make it to the ceremony on time? And what other wedding day surprises does Bones have in store for us?...

Tonight's the night: Booth and Brennan's wedding is happening on "Bones." What will happen at this spectacular event? Videos from "The Woman in White" give us a clue. Check them out for a preview and some "Bones" spoilers.
First up, there's a behind-the-scenes look at the "Bones" wedding rehearsal. The video focuses on guest star David Hornsby, who plays Father Daniel Harrow, the priest set to marry Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz).
The joke in all of this is that Hornsby is married -- in real-life -- to Deschanel. He is quite amusing about it. "In this episode of 'Bones,' I'm playing a husband who's acting with his wife and watching her kiss another man. I'm playing the most emasculated male character on television," Hornsby explains, adding: "I'm a proud husband, marrying off his wife."

“Bones” viewers are in for an additional treat Monday as Fox airs an extended look at its upcoming series, “Almost Human,” during the night’s episode. The preview will occur approximately 25 minutes into “Bones” episode “The Woman in White,” which airs at 8 p.m. Monday evening. Today we are talking to a three-time Laurence Olivier Award-winning actress who has made a major mark on the West End with her peerless string of richly varied performances - ranging from premiere UK productions of Merrily We Roll Along, Sunday In The Park With George and Passion to Lady In The Dark, Ragtime and The Woman In White, as well as her various solo engagements, who now also excels as a director of theatre and opera, as well - the gifted Maria Friedman. Discussing all aspects of the recent West End production of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's anomalous musical experiment Merrily We Roll Along - cited by the master himself as the best production of the show to date - and now the fantastic Fathom film presentation of it arriving in movie theaters nationwide and around the world on October 23. It's real -- after more than eight seasons, Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) and Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) are finally getting married on "Bones." Wedding photos from "The Woman in White" make it look like the event will indeed happen as planned too.
This is a very good thing.
Of course, before any wedding can happen on a show like "Bones," the team has to solve a gruesome murder.
There's also a bit of drama when Booth finds a duffle bag stuffed with cash. Why does Max (Ryan O'Neal) have something like that?
At least Booth has Aldo Clemens (Mather Zickel) to counsel him these days.
They brought Parker (Ty Panitz) back for the wedding! He's getting so big!
Angela (Michaela Conlin) is of course the maid of honor.
Here comes the bride!
It looks like Booth and Max got over the whole bag-of-money thing.
Look who's conducting the ceremony!
Everyone...

Oh, oh. It’s Friday the thirteenth once again. So, of course there’s going to be a brand spankin’ new chiller thriller in the multiplexes starting today. And it’s a sequel. But Jason not donning that battered old hockey mask again. It’s a follow-up to the 2010 supernatural spooker from director James Wan. Yes, he’s the same director behind this past Summer’s big surprise box-office smash The Conjuring. While that flick was set in the far distant 1970′s, the new one is nearly all modern-day (except for a couple of flashbacks and a pre-title scene in the mid 1980′s). And this too is about an average family tormented by malevolent spirits (I’m reminded of the commercial bumpers from a classic TV cartoon “Are they friendly spirits?” no Rock, they certainly are not) and the paranormal investigators trying to send the spooks back. I missed the first one,...

Question: Did you watch the Revenge premiere yet? I’m dying to know what you thought. —Jodi
Ausiello: I did watch it, and my reaction will be featured exclusively in next week’s Season 3 premiere of Spoiler Alert! (the talent bookers on that show are crazy competitive with their scoops). But I can go ahead and tell you now that Revenge‘s post-Mike Kelley era gets off to a mostly solid start. It’s far from a disaster.

New York -- Broadway's newest Little Orphan Annie has found her Sandy.
The award-winning animal trainer William Berloni on Thursday unveiled the pooch who is slated to star in the Broadway revival of the Tony Award-winning musical "Annie" – Sunny, a 2-year-old female terrier mix rescued from a city pound in Houston.
"The most talented animals are right there under your nose," said Berloni, who makes it a point of using shelter dogs in all his projects. "The message is: Animals in shelters are not damaged, just unfortunate."
Sunny was only 24 hours away from being euthanized four months ago when Berloni spotted her photo online while conducting a nationwide search for Sandy. She had been mislabeled as male and given the name Bruno. Touched, he forwarded her photo to one of the show's producers, Arielle Tepper Madover, who wrote back, "Save her. I don't care what it costs."

Andrew Lloyd Webber has not had much love on Broadway for his new works. Though his older shows, including Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat all did well on Broadway (to say nothing about the 18 year long run of Cats and the 24-years-and-still-going Phantom of the Opera) and are frequently produced in community theaters across the country, his last three new shows (By Jeeves, Bombay Dreams, and The Woman in White) have only lasted a couple of months each in their Broadway debuts and were financial flops. And then there was Love Never Dies, the Phantom of the Opera sequel whose impending transfer from the West End to Broadway was much buzzed about but, ultimately, never materialized.

If only for originating the title role in the longest-running and most successful musical in world history - The Phantom Of The Opera - which is merely one of the many impossibly impressive moments in a fifty-year career that truly defies description - Michael Crawford is known and loved the world over. From the Broadway and West End stage to the concert stage the recording studio to the movie studio performing everywhere imaginable - he has conquered it all. In a resume-spanning conversation that takes us from Broadway to Hollywood and to the stage of the London Palladium where he is now starring as the eponymous Wizard Of Oz in Andrew Lloyd Webbers new theatrical adaptation of the classic film, Crawford and I take a look back at his many notable stage roles - among them, Billy, Barnum, Dance Of The Vampires and, most recently, Andrew Lloyd Webbers The Woman In White...

Glenn Close serves up a terrific performance as a gender-bending butler in Rodrigo García's intriguing ensemble piece
Meryl Streep must be quaking in her court shoes. That 2012 best actress Oscar was all but ready-etched with Streep's name for her turn as Margaret Thatcher in biopic The Iron Lady (out at the start of next year), but her main rival in the race is looking like an increasingly smart bet.
No surprise, really: Glenn Close has been trying to get a film of George Moore's 19th century-set novella off the ground ever since she won rave reviews for the role off-Broadway in 1982. And that 30-year gap would explain some of the casting kinks that are the sole distraction in this sly and intriguing period piece.

Writers: Peter Atkins, Peter Crowther, Paul Finch, Christopher Fowler, Tim Lebbon, Paul McAuley, Kim Newman, John Llewellyn Probert, Mark Samuels, Pat Cadigan, Scott Edelman, Jo Fletcher, Robert hood, Tanith Lee, Lisa Morton, Sarah Pinborough, Jay Russell, Mandy Slater, and Michael Marshall Smith.
There seems to be a massive resurgence in everything zombie, or zombie-like nowadays. From books such as Craig Dilouie's The Infection, to film e.g. World War Z and even in digital games like "Dead Island," there is no shortage of undead material to get your rotten hands onto. Therefore, the zombie literature genre is a competitive market, one where the creme (cream) thankfully shambles to the top. This is the case with Stephen Jones' version of the coming zombocalypse. Released in paperback form December 7th, Zombie Apocalypse unites several horror fiction writers to believably tell tales of the undead. In no time, London falls,...

Director/writer: Gilles Marchand.
Black Heaven is a film from Gilles Marchand (Who Killed Bambi?), which centrally stars Gregoire Leprince-Ringuet and Louise Bourgoin. Released April 12th on various platforms, Black Heaven or L'Autre Monde (The Other World) warns viewers of those mermaids of the sea, who sometimes appear in film, seducing characters and enticing watchers to see what happens next. The beautiful Bourgoin plays the vixen, while Leprnce-Ringuet as Gaspard plays the soon to be trapped. This is a trap that you do not want to be caught in, as a suicide club turns to murder, when there are no more volunteers to cross over. Black Heaven is compelling for asking that age-old, and unaswerable question: is there life after death?
If you said yes, then you need to show this reviewer proof. However, the film is smart enough not to ask this question upfront, but this topic is interwoven into the compelling narrative.

Above is a teaser trailer for the Gothic ghost story The Woman in Black, not to be confused with William Wilkie Collins' mystery-romantic novel The Woman in White. In fact, starring Daniel Radcliffe (not in the title role), The Woman in Black is based on Susan Hill's 1983 novel about the ghost of a scorned woman out to get revenge on the residents of a remote village. Radcliffe plays a young attorney who has a close encounter (take a look at the clip) with the woman's ghost. Directed by James Watkins and adapted by Jane Goldman, The Woman in Black features Ciarán Hinds, Academy Award nominee Janet McTeer, and Shaun Dooley. CBS Films has just acquired the film, which should come out some time in 2012.

Writer/director Andrew Barker is a man with a mission. For his first feature film, the stunning and gut-wrenching A Reckoning (review here), his mission is to get the film out to the fans who so desperately want to see this movie and for good reason - it's excellent!
From the seeds of an encounter with an abandoned Raf base in Nottingham, England, Barker came up with the story of a lone man (Leslie Simpson) and the questions people will be discussing and debating long after the film is over: Is this a post-apocalyptic film? Has The Man removed himself from society and now prefers to live like a hermit? Or is The Man simply insane?
Dread Central recently interviewed this amazing director to try and get some more insight into his polarizing film which very few have seen…yet.

Musical star Michael Crawford has told how he overcame chronic fatigue syndrome to make his comeback in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Wizard Of Oz revamp.
The British singer/actor returned to London's West End in the new production on Monday after five years away from the spotlight battling myalgic encephalopathy (Me).
Crawford was forced to leave the theatre in 2005 after collapsing during a performance of The Woman In White. He was subsequently diagnosed with the debilitating disorder, which leaves patients feeling physically and mentally exhausted.
He admits he feared the worst for his career when he began feeling tired at four in the afternoon every day.
Crawford tells Britain's Evening Standard, "I did think my career was over. I had no idea if I was going to get better or not. It was inexplicable. I kept trying everything - I changed my diet, tried different herbs, but it really came down to not putting pressure on my life.
"I moved out to New Zealand to live as I thought the warmth and peace and quiet would help me. I went away and changed my whole life routine. I took the pressure off, and when I was tired I just stopped. I was lucky as that is something you can't really do in every day life."
The relaxed lifestyle Crawford adopted while fishing and playing with his grandkids has given him new energy, and he now feels ready to tackle his six-month stint in the Wizard of Oz.
He adds, "I had to think for a long time over this offer. In the end I felt it was too good to turn down.
"It's not a massive role, but I'm quite happy doing this, and I will see how it goes. I really didn't realise until I got back the work that goes into a performance. You're like an athlete - if you haven't been practising things tighten up. I had to do a lot of practice work, but I got through it... It's been so far so good."...

Juggling both film and stage careers, Michael Crawford had established himself as one of theatre's finest leading men long before he opened as "the Phantom" in Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom Of The Opera, beginning one of the most widely acclaimed and memorable performances in theatre history. Few stars are as widely connected to a single role as Crawford is to "the Phantom." His Los Angeles and Broadway performances earned an astonishing catalogue of critical recognition including the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards, and the Los Angeles Dramalogue Award and Drama Critics Award. Since leaving Phantom after nearly four years in the role in London, New York and Los Angeles; Crawford has become a multi-platinum recording artist and one of the world's most sought after concert and stage performers, playing to sold-out venues around the globe. In addition to his recent concert work, stage credits in London and on Broadway include Billy,...

Andrew Lloyd Webber has finally found his Wizard of Oz: Stage legend Michael Crawford — who originated the role of the Phantom in Webber’s Phantom of the Opera 24 years ago and is familiar to legions of fans as the hapless Frank Spencer from ’70s British sitcom Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em — will assume take on the role as the ruler of Oz in the forthcoming London-based production, according to Variety. It’s an interesting and spot-on choice, but truly not so super surprisingly, considering that Webber often goes back to performers he’s had success with before. (The 68-year-old last...

With his first "Supernatural" novel, The Unholy Cause, he takes Sam and Dean down to Georgia, where they don't exactly meet the devil, but they come awfully close. I was able to ask Joe a few questions about the book and his other work.
Mr. Dark: How familiar were you with the "Supernatural" world before you decided to write The Unholy Cause?
Joe Schreiber: Not very. I think I watched part of the pilot episode online a few years ago, "The Woman in White". That was it. So when the opportunity to write this novel came along, I put myself...

Taking time out from his astonishingly busy schedule to talk about his neww BBC talent search ‘Over The Rainbow’, in the interview below Andrew Lloyd Webber begins by outlining what he is looking for in Dorothy, a role first made famous by Judy Garland in the much-loved 1939 movie of The Wizard Of Oz.
