Due to an ugly falling out between Hugh Herbert and Edward Bernds, this was the final Herbert short directed by Bernds. He later stated in interviews that Herbert was not fond of the Columbia two-reelers he starred in and always gave an "I don't care" attitude. This explains he mostly joined Columbia's short-subject unit as a side job for additional money.
One of the very few Hugh Herbert two-reelers to feature the generic "Merrily We Roll Along" theme over the opening credits, as most of them used an instrumental rendition of "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow".
