Both Woody and his surfboard are seen in their easier versions. Woody would become more of a caricature while wooden long boards would be replaced by modern fiberglass models in the 1960's.
Woody uses WW2 era flight jargon as he brings the flying carpet in for a landing, which wartime audiences would have appreciated.
Woody joins a large group of fellow cartoon characters who poke fun at side show mystics, hypnotists and fortune tellers here. Just about every studio used this plot element over the years.
