...pretty bad!
Lunchbox15 November 1998
Well, I don't normally think there's such a thing as a HORRIBLE movie, but this is pretty damned close! The best acting performance in the whole thing was Snoop Dogg, who has one line in a 10 second scene. I agree with the "glad it was short" review. The music videos at the end were cool though.

A truly great comedy.
RikFlash25 November 2000
This is one entertaining flick. I suggest you rent it, buy a couple quarts of rum, and invite the whole crew over for this one. My favorite parts were.1. the gunfights that were so well choreographed that John Woo himself was jealous, .2. The wonderful special effects .3. the Academy Award winning acting and .4. The fact that every single gangsta in the film seemed to be doing a bad "Scarface" impersonation. I mean, Master P as a cuban godfather! This is groundbreaking territory. And with well written dialogue including lines like "the only difference between you and me Rico, is I'm alive and your dead," this movie is truly a masterpiece. Yeah right.

So bad, you have to see it.
jonspain16 October 2002
What can I say? If you have seen "I'm Bout It," then you will note that although the P had a little more money for better filming quality, the acting was still bad, if not worse. And the story? Master P, the son of an Italian crime boss? You have to hear him using his Scarface voice throughout the movie. Hilarious! And I don't think I have seen worse action scenes. I don't even feel like commenting any more. You have to see it for yourself.

The greatest Mafia film of all time
This has to be one of, if not THE greatest Mob/Crime films of all time. Every thing about this movie is great, the acting in this film is of true quality; Master P's acting skills make you actually believe he is Italian! The cinematography is excellent too, probably the best ever. This movie was great; and I have the brain capacity of an earth worm.

What a waste of film.
ak47sp6 October 2004
This movie rips off of every mobster/gangster film ever made. MP Da Last Don has a reference to every movie. The acting was by far the worst i have every seen. Who the hell is John Mario anyway? His acting was by far the worst I have ever seen. He makes bad actors look good. As far as Master P goes, he's selling out quicker than an N*sync concert. I really wish I was there to tell the whole production company: WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING WHEN PENNING THE SCRIPT?" Obviously these people are so fixated on the gangster image that they decided to make a movie and live out their gangster lives for real in their minds. One thing I do know is that there wasn't anyone who wanted to distribute this film so it seems (and how predictable) that the guys at NO LIMIT had to start; NO LIMIT FILMS. I've said enough! This movie is terrible and it does not deserve to be called a movie!

Baby. . . You Was Havin A Baby?
zatz-17 February 2005
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the most accidentally funny movies of all time. If you like watching crap movies and making fun of them then you need to watch this. There's Master P making claims of cleaning up the community. There's Master P using a Cuban accent to symbolize his plunge into the Mafia life-style, involving the constant use of the word "ma-" (instead of man). There's gratuitous strip club scenes where there is a buck-nekked woman in every shot. There's the fact that this movie has not one, not two, not three, but FOUR different endings (one was too many). Trust me - this movie is hilarious. I leave you with the same tip Master P, as a basketball coach, tells his players: "This is my world. You ain't nothing' but a squirrel."

Master P needs to be whooped with a fan belt for this bullshit. What a waste of time. I thought State Property was some corny wanna be gangster bullshit but this makes State Property look like Goodfellas. I actually know people that like this movie and recommended to me that I watch it. If they weren't friends of mine Id kill em.

First of all, you have to be 100% Italian to even be a made man. Im black and I know that much about the mafia. I like rap but I get tired of rappers making these fake ass gangster movies. Some of them have sold a few rocks and that makes them think that they are gangster. Real gangsters aren't in show business.

THIS IS THE GREATEST NO LIMIT MOVIE OF ALL TIME
mohimwong12 March 2002
Some hip hop directors make films to increase the level of profanity, but Master P makes films to increase the level of profundity. If it's not his love of subtle subtext then it's his wonderful use of tracking shots and high key lighting. Not only a master craftsmen behind the camera, but a dynamic actor that Stanislavsky would be so proud of. P has also enlisted the shimmering talent of master thespian brothers in this film Vyshonne and Corey Miller. Indeed the presence of Skull Duggery and Magic is missing from this venture, but surely there is no need for a Paul Schofield when Snoop Dogg allows time for a cameo. All in all a masterpiece, and it is an outrage that Da Last Don is not on AFI's Top 100 list.

The Almost Last Don
reduxdewill18 August 2003
MP's The Last Don was suppose to be a companion item along with his supposedly final album. That was the plan. I remember there being a slight delay on the film, so it came out a few months after the album.

This movie is Percy Miller's version of two classic films. One being an urban classic ,"New Jack City." The other being the all time classic, "The Godfather." Sure this movie has a B quality in it, and it's also rather violent for a short film. But this film is actually good. Since Master P hails from one of the most historically criminal areas of the U.S., and also is a reformed criminal there is some truth in this movie. If you get past the oddities of this film it's quite enjoyable.

The weak points are the basketball and half-Italian storyline.Although there is a delightful strip club scene. As far as rap movies go, Miller is Fellini. What does that say about hip-hop films?

Sucked
fatass-219 January 1999
All this movie had in it was rap music, killing, and sex.(no nudity) I did not like it at all. A friend showed it to me and I about died. All I want to say is this is not even a movie, just a mere attempt at one.

Cut and paste Gangster movie.
justkieron14 May 2007
Just as 'I'm Bout It' stole the story lines from different 'hood' movies and stuck them together badly with a bunch of poor actors, so this film does but with Gangster movies.

Master P plays a CUBAN gangster called Don CORLEONE. Corleone was the surname of family in 'The Godfather' only because they came from the town of Corleone in Sicily. The family in this pretty much act like any other stereotyped Italian American gangsters except for the fact they are slightly more hot headed and have badly delivered Scarface accents. Master P himself seems to change accent at different points of the film from his southern American drawl to an even worse Scarface accent than anyone else. The music is supplied by P himself and his No Limit Soldiers. Master P was never a good rapper, but has made a large fortune off rapping... he's an even worse film maker and actor but I'm sure he made a fortune off this too. Saying all this, there is a small charm to the film, partly due to it being so bad it's actually quite amusing.

It's not the worst movie ever...
MTyson9 January 2003
Warning: Spoilers
But it's close. I'm all for the unintentional comedy in movies, but this was just a waste of time, money and space. But as it's been said before, it's so sad it's funny. My favorite part (Contains spoilers, but it's not like this has a spoil-worthy plot anyway...): When P's woman gets killed, and P drops to his knees yelling, "Aw man! My baby was having a baby! WHY! WHY!" His tone implied he was asking why someone was late to meet him, not why his woman was dead. He seemed more annoyed than sad.

Glad it was so short
Ryank5 August 1998
There was just something about this movie that couldn't keep me interested so I was glad the movie was only approx. 45 minutes. The cool thing about this movie was almost the whole No Limit family was in it.
