A most unusual experiment that failed.

For its time, "Venus on the Hard Drive" was pretty amazing...of course, by today's standards it's a bit primitive.

Shortly after the story begins, Harry is playing a video game and finds a secret level. There, he meets a virtual woman, Venus, and, oddly, she knows just about everything about him--at least stuff that can be found on his computer. What's really crazy is what happens next....she manages to come OUT of the computer and interacts with him in the real world! There, she not only meets him but Harry's friend, Oz. She likes them both but her meddling ends up with some crazy consequences...such as destroying Harry's relationship with his lady friend AND with $90,000,000 suddenly appearing in Oz's bank account!

It must have taken some sophisticated programming and computer power to bring Venus to life for the show. After all, this was the late 1990s. It is very interesting. Not necessarily good or a show with promise, as it was only made as a pilot episode and the network passed on this one.
