On Tuesday, 18th February 2020, ITV announced that the comedy drama will return for a tenth series - but potentially not for a number of years. Series creator and writer Mike Bullen, the production company Big Talk and ITV have all agreed to allow the series to "rest" for a number of years before revisiting the characters at a later point in their lives. Details of the potential length of Cold Feet's break from television screens have not been announced.
The first draft of the pilot episode script set the characters in North London. The setting was moved to Manchester because it was cheaper to film there and would be easier for television audiences to relate to.
