Following the successful telecasts of Othello (1922) and The Eagle (1925), New York City's freshly launched television WJZ (Channel 7), began a weekly series of Sunday evening silent film feature presentations, presented more or less in their entirety, which aired intermittently for the next twelve months. This feature, the earliest of the lot, led off the parade on Sunday 3 October 1948, under its English language title, The Crusaders. The following week, Husbands or Lovers (1924) aka Husbands or Lovers, would be the selection.
