Funny Columbia Short
GManfred21 August 2011
Columbia was always looking to discover a new comedy team by teaming up likely comedians in hopes the team would click. The team of Slim Summerville and Emmett Lynn did click, but this short unfortunately was the only one they made together. Summerville would pass away two years later, but this short proves they would have made a very funny team.

The two are rommates, wondering why they are still single. Lynn tells Summerville that the local battle axe (Minerva Urecal) has a crush on him, and the fun is non-stop from then on, as Summerville lacks the nerve to ask her to marry him. The script sustains humor throughout, and was written by Felix Adler. The Director was Jules White and both are recognizable hands from other Columbia shorts, most notably The Three Stooges. Also on hand are Vernon Dent and Frank Sully in bit parts. Great fun with lots of slapstick in a hard-to-find short.
