Ashanti dished on her enduring friendship with Ja Rule -- admitting whether or not the duo has ever hooked up! The 37-year-old also opened up about what she really thought of that infamous Beyonce review back in 2003 and how she whipped herself into break-the-internet bikini shape for her spot in the new Ciroc French Vanilla commercial.
Suffice it to say, the "Say Less" singer was definitely in a sharing, "say more" kinda mood during this revealing sit-down. Watch it below and read on for a breakdown of her biggest reveals.

Princess CydStephen Cone has been making movies at a steady clip for over a decade and yet remains largely unknown. It is a momentous and wholly deserved occasion then for him to receive a retrospective at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York. Despite mixed receptions and even more erratic distribution patterns, his collection of films isn’t as motley as one might think. While each might tiptoe in a different direction, they maintain a hand in the Stephen Cone universe, imprinted by the same particular humanistic insight. In one of his earliest films, In Memoriam (2011), a young man so subsumed with the sudden death of a couple, fallen from a roof during the throes of pleasure, conducts his own investigation into their ill-fated demise. Innocuous curiosity masks what is essentially an existential inquiry and takes a self-referential pivot when he decides to recreate and film the events,...

Actress and comedian Amy Sedaris is no stranger to crafts, entertaining and homemaking, as she’s demonstrated with her two books, I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence and Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People. Plus, we can never forget her one-time cheese balls and cupcakes catering business, Dusty Food Cupcakes. Now, the former Strangers With Candy star is showcasing her diverse but necessary homemaking skills on the new truTV series, At Home With Amy Sedaris, co-created by her and Paul Dinello.
On the 10-episode comedy, her quirky tidbits are bought to life in lessons on creating Popsicle stick buddies, with kids dipping their glue-covered figurines into bags of hair, and how to gut a fish. And there will be plenty of celebrity guests, from Jane Krakowski and Stephen Colbert, to get a firsthand demonstration.
While there’s an earnest humor written into each segment, everything is ultimately derived from her years of crafting and entertaining. “It’s something...

This is Darius Rucker, unfiltered.
In honor of his fifth solo album, When Was the Last Time, the Grand Ole Opry member and three-time Grammy winner sat down with Et to indulge in a bottle of his signature Backstage whiskey for an Interview Under the Influence.
"Backstage we thought was a great name because of what I do, but it all started back in the day," Rucker says, referencing a 1997 festival performance with his rock band, Hootie and the Blowfish.
"We were on tour with Slash's Snake Pit and we were backstage and we look at our trailer. It's us and eight other guys. It's, like, 12 dudes in this trailer," he continues. "We look right next door and in the window we see Slash, and it's Slash and, like, 12 girls. That night, we drank some whiskey to Slash."

I recently had a chance to talk with Kourosh Ahari. He’s a very promising young filmmaker that not only appreciates all the facets of good storytelling, but also embraces the technology that would allow him to tell those stories within and outside the realm of known possibilities. That approach has worked pretty well for guys like Spielberg and Cameron, so I relished the opportunity to talk to someone with that same passion at the dawn of their career.
He has already crossed genres with some pretty surreal and powerful stories involving human emotion intersecting with extraordinary circumstances, and now he’s using an innovative new three screen technology in his horror short film The Secret Of 40. Ahari talks with me in this interview about his beginnings, his very impressive body of work thus far, and what may be next for how we watch and enjoy films.

After a cliffhanger ending in last week's episode, Wynonna Earp had a lot of questions to answer this weekend. After all, it's one thing to do the big reveal; it another thing to explore the implications of that big reveal. In this way, cliffhangers are relatively easier to pull off. How did Wynonna Earp do? Splendidly, of course. We never doubted this show!

"We write a lot of songs while we're drinking wine – so it’s a tax write-off, maybe?"
Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild is explaining the origins of the band’s new Four Cellars wine club over a glass of chardonnay in a private back room at Nashville's The Thompson hotel. In a few minutes, we'll launch into a boozy, hilarious game of "Never Have I Ever" – but first, we talk shop.
Produced in partnership with the Browne Family Vineyards in Walla Walla, Washington, Lbt is kicking off its Four Cellars collection (named for, you guessed it, the four members of the band) with a chardonnay and a red blend. In addition to being poured at select venues in Nashville – including The Ryman Auditorium, where the band currently holds residency – it’s also the "very sophisticated, but super easy to drink" anchor of a wine club experience.

Babette Mangolte. © Fleur van Muiswinkel If the name Babette Mangolte doesn’t ring with the same familiarity as such storied French cinematographers as Raoul Coutard and William Lubtchansky, it’s not for lack of innovation or accomplishment. Born in Montmorot in 1941, Mangolte moved to New York in 1970 following a number of years as an assistant cinematographer and apprentice to director Marcel Hanoun. There she quickly integrated herself into the city’s burgeoning experimental cinema scene, befriending luminaries such as Jonas Mekas and Stan Brakhage, and soon after met a 20-year-old Chantal Akerman whom she proceeded to collaborate with on a series of groundbreaking works throughout the mid-70s. Influenced as much by structuralism as the films of the French New Wave, Mangolte and Akerman deftly utilized time and space as cinematic conduits to visually articulate themes of dislocation, alienation, and female autonomy. Their most celebrated work, the landmark feminist dispositif Jeanne Dielman,...

This April, the hit animated comedy series “Archer” will kick off its eighth season with a brand new, very noir, time and location setting.
Read More: ‘Archer’ Season 8 Trailer: Adam Reed’s Spies Go Noir in ‘Dreamland’
In the upcoming season, “Archer” is set in Los Angeles during the year 1947. Thanks to its new locale and time period, the season also boasts some new aesthetic touches. The animated comedy series has added film grain and the classic chiaroscuro of film noir to authenticate the time period in which this season exists.
Still maintaining its seasoned wit, “Archer” will clearly continue to pile on the comedy. Various promos for the upcoming season thrust you into the world of “Archer: Dreamland,” including the ol’ spinning globe broadcast trope and and text advertising the “News of the Now.”

Under The Influence: Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts Talks The Inspirations Behind ‘Kong: Skull Island’
Filmmaker Jordan Vogt-Roberts has made that giant leap that many directors are taking these days. His first feature was the charming indie “Kings Of Summer” and his follow-up is a massive blockbuster. “It’s been crazy,” Vogt-Roberts told The Playlist, about the graduation from indie to four quadrant tentpole – adding, “I’ve spent the last two and half years of my life on this.”
Vogt-Roberts, who directed Arnold Schwarzenegger in a charity promo and got behind the camera of several tech heavy commercials in the lead up to “Kong: Skull Island” (our review), has made an unconventional ape creature feature.

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for the first season of “The Young Pope.”]
The finale of “The Young Pope’s” first (but hopefully not final) season was a true test of faith for some fans, leaving them with more questions than they had going into the episode.
Lenny Belardo (Jude Law), aka Pope Pius Xiii, finally showed his face to address his flock with the global message to “smile,” but after spying what looked like his elderly parents in the crowd, he collapsed. It is unclear if this event presages his imminent death or if he’ll merely be sidelined while recovering. We’re not even sure if the show will continue another season or if/how Lenny’s future would play out in it. Seeking enlightenment, IndieWire turned to the show’s creator Paolo Sorrentino, who agreed to answer our burning questions.

Ethan Hawke’s upcoming film, “Blaze,” has just added a number of actors to its already impressive lineup, including “Boyhood” director himself Richard Linklater. Sam Rockwell, Steve Zahn, Wyatt Russell, Kris Kristofferson and Hawke will be joining Ben Dickey, Alia Shawkat, Sybil Rosen, Charlie Sexton, and Josh Hamilton in the music biopic based on singer and songwriter Blaze Foley.
Co-written, produced and directed by Hawke, the film is based on Sybil Rosen’s memoir ‘Living in the Woods in a Tree.’ It follows the life of the unsung songwriting legend of the Texas Outlaw Music movement that spawned the likes of Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson. Dickey will star as the musician, Shawkat plays Rosen and Rosen portrays her own mother.
Rosen, who co-wrote the film with Hawke, was Blaze’s real, life-long love and their passionate affair is said to form the narrative spine of the film.

We've got a cold beer for Steve Austin.
"Stone Cold" sat down with Et this week with a few bottles of his very own Broken Skull Ipa for an Interview Under the Influence, dishing on everything from delivering his signature "Stone Cold Stunner" to Donald Trump a decade ago, to the lamest thing he ever saw Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson do in the ring, and the rock ‘n’ roll god that once blew him off at a party.
If you missed our last installment with Florida Georgia Line, here's how it works: For each question asked, Steve could choose to answer (forcing me to take a swig of beer), or not answer (and take a swig of beer for himself).

Criterion has debuted a new video series, “Under the Influence,” in which, you guessed, directors talk the filmmakers who influence and inspire them. Opening the series is Moonlight director Barry Jenkins on the cinema of Wong Kar-wai. The Franco-American Cultural Fund, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, has announced the program for the 20th Colcoa French Film Festival that will run April 18-26 at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles. The festival will showcase a record 70 films and television series - among them 64 in competition for Colcoa Awards - including four World Premieres, seven International Premieres, 19 North American or U.S. Premieres, 17 West Coast Premieres - and 21 new shorts. Colcoa, is now the world's largest event dedicated to French films and television.
"This 20th anniversary deserves a spectacular, strong program that reflects the diversity of French production, as well as the creativity and dynamism of French filmmakers and producers," stated François Truffart, Colcoa Executive Producer and Artistic Director. "More than ever, we are about to involve audiences in a journey that will stir them, make them laugh, cry, tickle their curiosity, and help them remain optimistic, while recognizing the urgent world zeitgeist."
"20 years is an achievement for any film festival in Hollywood. This would not have been possible without the commitment of the Franco-American Cultural Fund - a unique partnership of the DGA, the Mpa, la Sacem and the WGA West - creator of the festival in 1996 and supporter of its subsequent development. We also salute French sales companies, official supporters, sponsors, and U.S. distributors, whose loyalty and trust have given the festival its continuing excellence," he added.
Colcoa will open Monday, April 18th with the North American Premiere of "Monsieur Chocolat," a biopic about the first French black clown, co-written by Cyril Gely, Olivier Gorce, Gérard Noiriel, Roschdy Zem, directed by Roschdy Zem, and starring Omar Sy and James Thiérrée. The film will be presented in association with Gaumont, which celebrates its 120th anniversary.
The festival will close its competition on Monday, April 25th with the World Premiere of "Up For Love," the new romantic comedy written and directed by Laurent Tirard, starring Academy Award winner Jean Dujardin and Virginie Efira. The feature film selection (40 features and documentaries and 21 shorts), will feature exclusive presentations. "Fanny's Journey," an epic drama written and directed by Lola Doillon, starring Cecile de France, is also a World Premiere. The U.S. Premiere of the thriller "Made in France," written and directed by Nicolas Boukhrief, is a film which did not have theatrical release in France because of sensitivity following the recent terrorist attacks in Paris. Colcoa also will present the U.S. Premiere of Robert Guédiguian's provocative film about the Armenian genocide, "Don't Tell Me the Boy Was Mad." The U.S. Premiere of Oscar ® winner Claude Lelouch's new film "Un plus Une," starring Jean Dujardin and Elsa Zylberstein, will screen, in addition to another U.S. Premiere of "All Gone South," the comedy sequel co-written and co-directed by Nicolas Benamou and Philippe Lacheau, two years after the success of Babysitting at Colcoa in 2014.

Look out! Here come two A.I.P. horror pix from the soggy end of the Poe cycle: the first features Jason Robards, an impressive cast and a disorganized storyline. The second is an almost-good Lovecraft horror with interesting performances from Dean Stockwell and Sandra Dee. Scream Factory's new double feature disc finishes off two different American-International horror series. The first picture is the last fright film made for the company by the directing and writing team of Gordon Hessler and Christopher Wicking. It's no gem, but it's a lot more interesting on a second viewing. The second is the company's final try to make that old joker H.P. Lovecraft into a filmic horror icon, like Edgar Allan Poe. It has a lot going for it, but also its own set of problems.

A movie that’s about movies in the most skewer-happy sense, Joel and Ethan Coen‘s Hail, Caesar! is bound to inspire any number of comparisons and spot-the-reference games among discerning viewers. Not all of these are obvious. Despite the fact that I’m thinking about Jerry Lewis for half of any given day, I can’t say I made the same connections raised in the latest installment of Little White Lies‘ video-essay series, “Under the Influence,” where Adam Cook examines Lewis’ second directorial effort, The Errand Boy, and those curious ways it overlaps with the Coens‘ latest picture. Although the latter is hardly mentioned therein, fans of either should notice commonalities in their respective humor, intents, and scopes, even past the obvious fact of being set at movie studios. If nothing else, keep these in mind as a very fine double-feature to hold at home.

Thanks to a heartfelt post from legendary drummer and fellow Prince associate Sheila E., we learned that Vanity, a.k.a. Denise Matthews, died at age 57 on Monday after a battle with sclerosis encapsulating peritonitis, a complex form of a kidney disease. Matthews began her career as a model in her native Canada and met Prince, her musical mentor, at the 1980 American Music Awards. Prince gave her the name Vanity because he saw his "female reflection" in her, and he asked her to front his new girl group Vanity 6. That outfit, styled similarly to Prince's followup group Apollonia 6, would notch its biggest hit with the racy track "Nasty Girl," a twisted and explicit raunch-pop gem produced by Prince himself. Matthews would later go solo and record tracks like "Pretty Mess" and "Under the Influence," which actually became her highest-charting single. But everything you need to know about Vanity's wicked flair is in "Nasty Girl.

Some films are an enigma. Some movies will not give up their secrets no matter how many times they are viewed. Parts of the puzzle are missing, all the pieces are not present so we can make an accurate determination as to what we are witnessing. And quite frankly I like that, done properly I love it. When you watch as many movies as I have the linear progression from point A to B and then to C and then the final credits can be a bit mundane after a while. I like movies that do not tell us everything, again, done properly I love them. Movies of this type expect you to stretch, to get outside your safety zone, you are expected to think about what you are seeing and feeling, there is some mystery just out of camera range.

Netflix kicks off the Television Critics Association's summer press tour this year with a packed schedule for the fourth quarter. But the biggest — and probably least surprising — piece of news is that Raphael Bob-Waksberg's depressingly funny BoJack Horseman is returning for a third season in 2016, with another 12 episodes. The regular cast will return — Will Arnett, Alison Brie, Aaron Paul, Amy Sedaris, and probably a bunch of other celebrity cameos. To celebrate, let's just tell our partners we're in Cordovia when we're actually just binge-watching television until 2016.In other news, here's what else we can expect from Netflix later this year: Aziz Ansari's sitcom Master of None airs November 6. Oscar-winning director Morgan Neville (20 Feet From Stardom) has a documentary on Keith Richards called Keith Richards: Under the Influence, which will air September 18. As we reported earlier, Chelsea Handler's docuseries would feature a series...

Tonight, The Roast of Justin Bieber will air on Comedy Central and the masses will get what they’ve long been waiting for: a public shaming of Justin Bieber. Of course, some of the special’s most notable put-downs of the pop star have been publicized, including insults from the likes of Roast master Kevin Hart (“Justin’s Canadian. He’s actually considered American, because no Canadian has ever been this much of an asshole”), Shaquille O’Neal (“Last year you were ranked the fifth most hated person of all time. Kim Jong-un didn’t even score that low, and he uses your music to fuckin’ torture people”), and Jeffrey Ross (“You’ve become a cocky little shit. You are the King Joffrey of pop”).
While Bieber’s burns are definitely scorching, he’s hardly the only Roastee to get royally humiliated during their special. As we count down to The Roast of Justin Bieber,...

“Unparallelled peaks of passion…”
Got a little fact for you all before we start. Did you know that there are more divorced men living in San Fransisco than anywhere else in the world? No? Well neither did I until watching this film. A few minutes in and we’re learning something already! Anyway, we meet our main characters, a group of divorced buddies who live together. We have Joe the architect, played by Herschel Savage (Jail Bait, Fleshdance), Ron the doctor, played by Jamie Gillis (Waterpower, Dracula Sucks), Jim the Lawyer, played by Jesse Adams (Mob Job, Ultraflesh) and Art the engineer, played by Michael Morrison (Purely Physical). After watching some porn, Joe tells them the story of how he came to be divorced. It’s all down to his pesky dick teasing babysitter Laurie, played by Tawny Pearl (Lusty Ladies). After talking about he nearly raped the poor thing,...

And you thought you had money problems.
This week’s Sleepy Hollow finds the town in the grips of a Henry-engineered plan to turn the good citizens against each other. The Horseman of War’s weapon of choice? A cursed coin with some historically bad mojo, as the Mills sisters learn firsthand.
The evil cash also brings into town a ray of hot, scruffy sunshine, and it sets up an hour that makes me want to become a full-fledged congregant of the Sisterhood of the Radiant Beharie — that’s how much leading lady Nicole shines during the ep.
But I’m getting ahead of myself.

There are so many of them that I decided to break it down into multiple parts, and I have ten more crazy characters that I think you'll all get a kick out of, especially if you've never heard of them below.
