Sex & Nudity

  • Nudity: a baby boy frontal (penis) is shown, for a second or two.
  • A baby gets its diaper changed and we see some very brief rear nudity
  • Leo asks Bev what she wants for Christmas (she being a young girl) and she states that she wants a bra for her "boobs" so that she can impress some boy she likes (many uses of "boobs" occur during this conversation that makes him uncomfortable).
  • High school girl and boy, have sex in the back seat (a girl's legs go up on the seats), but the actual act is not shown. There's a lot of laughter. Another boy and girl are in the front seat but only a kiss is shown between them.
  • Young girl talks about French kissing and instructs her younger sister on what it involves. Teenager talks about dating and second base as being nothing below *her* waist not his. Plot revolves around a 15-year-old girl getting pregnant and agreeing to marry the father.

Violence & Gore

  • Ray picks a fight with a football player who's been mean to Bev. Accordingly, he pushes the guy, who then pushes him back. Ray then urges him to throw a punch and when the player does, Ray bends over so that the punch hits the top of his head, injuring the player's hand.

Profanity

  • In the wedding scene, a Donofrio relative performs the first line of "The Lady's a Tramp" before being cut off by Bev's father.
  • At least 5 "s" words, 4 slang terms for breasts ("boobs"), 2 a-words (1 used with "hole"), 1 d-word, 1 h-word, 2 uses each of "God," "My God" and "Oh my God" and 1 use each of "For God's sakes" and "Jesus" as exclamations.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Bev and Fay take some pills that Bev says Ray is always trying to get her to take. Moments later, we see the two women acting high from taking the drugs.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Jason (at a young age) falls through the cover of a hot tub (in the winter) and goes under the water, with Bev having to reach in and rescue him.
