All That Jazz (1979) is the only Palme d’Or winner to have won the Oscar for Best Production Design. I do not have an explanation for that. Luck of the draw, really. But, as we await the prizes at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, this odd piece of trivia is an excellent excuse to take a closer look at Bob Fosse’s masterpiece.
There are actually a few odd things about the film’s Oscar record. It’s not only a rare Oscar-winning remake, but a remake of another production design nominee: Federico Fellini’s 8½. The four designers who took home the prize for All That Jazz include not only production designer Philip Rosenberg and art directors Gary Brink and Edward Stewart but also Tony Walton,...

Author of Just Like Hell, Down, Lights Out and more, Nate Southard's prose has had a visceral effect on readers for quite some time now. Originally published in 2012, Scavengers gives readers a look at the zombie apocalypse through Southard's unique storytelling, and now the living dead tale is back in print courtesy of Sinister Grin Press. We have an exclusive excerpt from Scavengers that you can read right now.
"Millwood was a good place to be when the dead rose. It was small, isolated, and easy to defend. The survivors there forged a community, weathered what came, and began to prosper. But then they ran out of food. Now, Millwood is sending five men to the neighboring town of Rundberg, a place ruled by three thousand living dead, to find enough food to save their community. Five against three thousand? They don't stand a chance."

This is one of those stories that is simply too crazy to not be true. A Turkish man, Sefer Calinak, was recently on the dating show The Luck of the Draw. While going through his past relationships, a few interesting tidbits were revealed. See, he had murdered two woman.
Victim number 1 was his first wife. She was also his cousin. Her family had tried to force her to may a widower. The two eloped to stop this from happening. She moved in with him and his family for 5 months when according to Sefer "Her behavior changed. The nephew of the man who wanted to marry her started to come to our village. I was jealous and I killed her, in a way". He served 4 years of a 13 year sentence.
After his release, he married again and had two children, but then separated. Lucky her.
Victim number 2 was a married woman...

In a miraculous stroke of good fortune, USA Network opened the doors of its brand new drama series Suits to the press so that we could see what is really going on in the hallowed halls of the fictional law offices of Pearson Harden. As can be seen from the set photos, it was rare chance to see a new show being built from the ground up – to watch the glass tower world of New York City be rebuilt in a Toronto film studio. Providing their exclusive insight on their characters and the secret ingredient to this new show were stars Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, Rick Hoffman and executive producer Doug Liman. (Unfortunately Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle were tied up filming and were not available for interviews that day.)
