At San Diego Comic Con 2016, Bates Motel announced something that fans have been assuming would happen for a while. Deadline reports that Bates Motel will end after the upcoming season 5. This doesn't come as a great deal of shock since the season 4 finale killed off Norma Bates and set things up, quite nicely, for a prologue to the classic horror movie Psycho.
