A very funny MTV show

I remember this show did not last very long on MTV, but it had a lot of promise. I felt the best thing about the show was that it had many guest appearances by former members of "The State". I saw Michael Showalter and David Wain on a few episodes. It was that same type of State humor in more of a sitcom form.

I was a junior in high school when this show aired....

and I remember it pretty vividly even though I only saw two or three episodes. Really funny non-standard sitcom about two twin brothers who were roommates in Apt 2F. One twin (I forgot which) was the serious one while the other one was a lot more laid back. The serious one I believe had a best friend named Zach and the laid back one had a best friend named PDawg who was this hilarious "ghetto" white boy (the one character I could sort of relate to) who droned on and on about hanging out with his sad sack crew and going to Lil' Kim concerts. One episode in fact had a lost relative of his looking for him and telling the twins that PDawg was actually some preppy guy from Long Island or something. I remember this scene being a lot funnier than my description though. What actually got me to start watching the show was the current popular songs they would play between scenes in each episode which isn't usual for a sitcom (which usually makes up their own cheesy music) and at the time one of my favorite music groups was a rap group named Bone Thugs N Harmony who's biggest hit in 1996 was a song called "Tha Crossroads" which was a very delicate and sad song about death and heaven. The very first episode I saw had the serious twin getting hooked on feeding a Gigapet (Does anyone remember those?). However, at the end the poor gigapet dies after his laid back brother neglects to feed it while babysitting and you guessed it when the serious twin finds out his gigapet is dead, they played "Tha Crossroads." It was a touching and highly amusing scene because as the song plays he flashbacks to all the good times he had with the gigapet. Err, ya had to be there. Ya had to be sixteen like I was. And ya had to be a loser like me obsessed with a rap group that hasn't had a hit in about six years. Anyway, I must have watched one or two more episodes after this one and then one Sunday night I go to watch it and find a behind the scenes Mariah Carey thing instead. I was royally p***ed off and I remember telling my friend the next day that Apt 2F had been AWOL the night before. Little did I know it would never come back. Damn you, MTV, damn you.
