Sex & Nudity

  • A man and woman have sex on a beach, they are in a crisscross sitting position. Though they are nude, their private parts are covered by each other's bodies.
  • A woman takes her clothes off and she is in her underwear and bra.
  • A girl is seen in sexy black brassiere and panties, as she jumps into a lake.
  • A man and woman kiss passionately outside.
  • 2 big posters of two women dressed in nothing but black underwear and bras. One from the side and one with a short black jacket.
  • A woman takes off her blouse and you see her in a bra.

Violence & Gore

  • There are several gang-related and gun fights.
  • One scene details a drive-by shooting at a restaurant. Some people are clearly shot, but there is no blood or gore. This leads to an intense police chase, where Sharon and the other police attempt to catch the shooter. Sharon follows him into an empty stadium. The shooter eventually knocks her down and points a gun at her head, but she is saved just in time.
  • There are many scenes that show the police arresting and dealing with many violent people, specifically those in gangs. There is some punching, kicking, and general physical violence involved.
  • A man with a gun shoots Sharon in the torso area, but she is wearing a bullet proof vest. Still, a later scene shows her examining a wound on her chest from the mirror. It is not mentioned again, so we can assume she is fine, but it is a fairly large wound, with red and purple coloring.

Profanity

  • 38 uses of the F word - the most common profanity in the movie
  • Twelve (12) uses of "shit"
  • One (1) use of "son of a bitch"
  • Eight (8) uses of "bitch"
  • One (1) use of "dick".
  • A woman is called a "fucking cunt", by her brother (changed to "kook" in the UK to get a 15 rating), and a man is called a "cock sucker".
  • Everything else is just mild profanity.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • People drink alcohol in a bar, and a man is seen smoking.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A serious car accident is shown in the opening scene, with some fatalities.
  • There are some brutal fights, most of which involve the police and gang-related violence.
  • The police are called to the house when a man hits his wife. There is a lot of emotional distress shown with the victim, and violence between the police and the abusive husband.
  • One of the main characters shares an apartment building with a little boy, who looks to be about eight years old and is often seen playing alone in the hallway while his mother screams at her ex-husband on the phone. The main character and the little boy often just stare at each other, setting an unusual and somewhat creepy tone as the viewer tries to guess what is going through the main character's mind.
  • Late at night, a woman enters an abandoned house that hasn't been touched in over a year. There's even an image of an old, moldy birthday cake. The whole scene is pretty disturbing, suggesting that something could jump out at any second (although nothing does).
  • There are flashbacks to the car accident from the first scene and how it happened. Victims are seen lying dead in a car, and there is a lot of blood. The scene where they actually show the truck crashing into the car can be very upsetting to some viewers, especially since it involves a young child.
  • There are two cemetery scenes that prompt a combination of anger and sadness from certain characters.
