Jeffrey Dean Morgan is shocked and stunned by The Walking Dead T-shirt controversy — shocked and stunned, that is, that anybody would find the shirt controversial in the first place.
To recap: U.K. department chain Primark pulled a Walking Dead T-shirt from its stores after a customer complained the clothing item is “racist” and “offensive.” The shirt featured Negan’s signature Lucille baseball bat and his victim-selecting rhyme,...

The Walking Dead has walked right into a real-life controversy… and the man who plays Negan has come out swinging.
British retail chain Primark pulled a Negan-themed Walking Dead T-shirt from its shelves this week, after a customer objected to the graphic on it that reads “Eeny Meeny Miny Moe,” calling it “racist” and “offensive.” And star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Negan on AMC’s zombie hit, didn’t mince words while reacting to the decision, tweeting on Wednesday, “Holy crap people are stupid.”

“The Walking Dead” star Jeffrey Dean Morgan had a short and sweet response to the growing uproar surrounding a T-shirt promoting the AMC series in which he stars. “Holy crap people are stupid,” Morgan tweeted, along with a link to TheWrap’s own story about a “Walking Dead”-themed shirt that was removed for sale by a British clothing retailer after a complaint that the shirt was “racist” and “fantastically offensive.” The shirt in question bore the image of a baseball bat and the message “Eeny Meeny Miny Moe” — a reference to a scene from the AMC zombie drama in which Negan (Morgan) is deciding.

“The Walking Dead” has once again caused an uproar, and this time it’s not over onscreen gore or a shocking character death. A “Walking Dead” T-shirt has been removed for sale by a British clothing retailer, after a complaint that the shirt was “racist” and “fantastically offensive.” The shirt in question bore the image of a baseball bat and the message “Eeny Meeny Miny Moe” — a reference to a scene from the AMC zombie drama in which Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is deciding who in the protagonist group to kill. After the “Eeny Meeny Miny Mo” Negan premiere episode, what a clever spin to have a man come a knockin’ on Carol’s new doorstep with a tiger by his toes. But before we get there, the latest The Walking Dead episode — The Well — was a complete bandaging to the gaping wounds of the gory first one, which will forever make fans flinch when a baseball bat is nearby. It also shows us that Carol (Melissa McBride) continues to be our favorite Walking Dead character hands down. And Morgan and King Ezekiel have good taste by this upstart clever middle-aged woman who...read more...

The 3rd annual Portland Oregon Women’s Film Festival (Pow!) has announced their full festival lineup, which includes 44 films from all over the world. The fest will run March 18-21 at the Hollywood Theatre.
Maybe this year, the Pow! fest will have something extra to celebrate if Kathryn Bigelow wins the Best Directing Academy Award on March 7th. Bigelow is the odds on favorite to take home the Oscar statuette this year for directing The Hurt Locker and, if she does, she’d be the first woman ever to do so. Actually, only four women have ever even been nominated: Bigelow, Lina Wertmuller, Jane Campion and Sofia Coppola.
The lineup below proves that women are a powerful force sitting in the director’s chair and Pow! has assembled an impressive lineup of animated films, shorts, features, documentaries, experimental films and more:
