- Wrinkley Kong is dead and talks to you as a ghost
- The Creepy Castle level has scary music and horror themed enemies. The resident demon in the mine cart may frighten younger children. There are skeleton kremlings with red eyes and run very fast. These may also be frightening.
- In the catacombs of Creepy Castle, you hear moaning sounds and unsettling music. Also, inside the ballroom you hear maniacal laughter on a continuous loop.
- Despite this games kid friendly nature and tone, there are some scary and unsettling moments.
Spoilers
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- The "Get out" sequences can be quite intense due to the time limit and crosshair hovering over you.
- On the Game Over screen that occurs when the player quits the game or fails to beat the clock to shut down King K. Rool's Blast-O-Matic, DK Isles is presumably destroyed; but the screen fades through black and back to the game's boot-up opening sequence before this tragedy ever occurs.
