Sex & Nudity

  • There is a very brief sexual scene in which no nudity is shown. We only see the banging of the bed and hear the woman moaning. Throughout the film the dialogue includes frequent references to sexuality.

Violence & Gore

  • A meth lab explodes casting up an intense torrent of flames. A man is shown running out of it, covered in flames. He collapses to the ground burning.
  • A man tumbles down a stairway while trying to steal a rare stool sample. He hits his head and blood is shown on it. Some of the fecal matter falls from the tube he is stealing, and he stuffs it back inside. He then rushes into the street and is run over and crushed by an ambulance. The entire scene is darkly comedic in nature.
  • The film contains frequent scenes of violence including gun violence, beatings and a stabbing. Several people are fatally shot, in some cases with explicitly bloody results. One character is tazered, then beaten and again the injuries are shown clearly. A man has a drug-loaded syringe plunged into his neck and is seen spasming on the floor afterwards. Two women are shown being beaten, one with a badly bruised face visible. A brief clip of archival WW2 footage shows a ship exploding. Gruesome murder and torture are described by two characters in conversations.
  • Several live birds are killed, some blood is shown, as is a stressed-out caged badger. While not overtly graphic, these scenes may upset some animal lovers.

Profanity

  • Strong coarse language throughout. Several uses of "F*ck", "c*cksucker", and one use of "f*ggot."

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • In two rather bizarre sequences, a group of addicts are shown engaging in meth and crack intake along with alcohol, while also tripping and behaving strangely in reaction.
  • Pervasive cigarette smoking, drug references and graphic use of amphetamines throughout.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A man is threatened to have his genitals fed to a starved, rabid badger in a cage. It is implied another character is punished in this way, however nothing is shown and only his screams of agony is heard.
  • The character of Pooh Bear, who lacks a nose, is often very frightening. He often behaves erratically and is always unpredictably psychotic.
