Doesn't Quite Live Up To Billing, But Still Pretty Solid

The sixteenth WrestleMania is one that seems to have a lot of hype attached to it. The combination of it being a nice round number (2000), a big four-way finale, and the fearlessness (for better or for worse) of the WWE at the time likely all contribute to this perception. While WM 2000 isn't a bad event, by any means, I would also argue it isn't one of the great Manias either.

A few of my thoughts...

-The lack of even one singles matches hurts this card. I realize that the WWE is experimenting with many different formats at this time, but sometimes the traditional 1X1 match is better than anything off-the-wall or crazy. A good example of this is the Jericho/Benoit/Angle Three-Way match. I feel like any combination of those two would have been better than the three of them mucking around.

-The best match on the card, hands down, is the Three-Way Ladder match between the Dudleys, Hardys, and Christian/Edge. This is high-flying, absolutely insane professional wrestling at its very best. Not only were all these guys fearless, but it wasn't a "sloppy fearless" either (like Mick Foley would often lapse into). No, these teams were all incredibly talented and not afraid to take risks (that they almost always pulled off successfully).

-The tag match featuring Kane/Rikishi vs. Road Dogg/X-Pac is pretty entertaining/solid, if the traditional "random talents thrown together" type of structure. This is the type of match in which the talented guys who couldn't get a storyline developed before WrestleMania are just thrown together in hopes of the talent winning out over the "heat". In this case, it works well enough.

-The Fatal Four-Way finale, featuring a McMahon in every corner, is indeed an entertaining prospect. The Rock (Vince), Big Show (Shane), Foley (Linda), and Triple-H (Stephanie) put on a decent show, but the overall effect proves to be slightly lackluster in total. Not only is it difficult to follow the action a lot of the times, but the ending is disappointing in the way it features the McMahons over the actual star talent. In other words, the weeks of build-up to this match were far superior to the end result.

Considering that Steve Austin, the company's biggest star at the time, was recuperating from various injuries during this period, it is amazing that WWE was able to pull this show off as well as it did. I'll always argue it is more "hype" than "substance", but there is certainly talent present...no one is doubting that. That sets enough of a baseline bar for entertainment even if the overall product isn't in my top WM events.

Wrestlemania 2000

Wrestlemania 2000 was quite a good PPV. It had the WM feel to it but some matches were just thrown together to pad the event out. The main event was disappointing, but it had a shock outcome.

Results from the PPV: - Big Bossman and Bull Buchanan defeated The Godfather and D'Lo Brown in a boring match.

• Hardcore Holly won the Hardcore title in a Battle Royal which also consisted of Pete Gas, Rodney, Joey Abs, Crash Holly, The APA, Viscera, Funaki, Taka Michinoku, Tazz and The Headbangers. Actually Crash was originally going to retain the title but Holly won it by mistake when the time limit ran out! - Test and Albert downed Al Snow and Steve Blackman in a poor match.

• Edge and Christian defeated The Dudley Boyz and The Hardy Boyz in a fantastic TLC match to win the WWF Tag Team titles.

• (Ref Val Venis) Terri defeated The Kat.

• Too Cool and Chyna defeated Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn.

• Chris Benoit defeated Chris Jericho to win the Intercontinental Championship. Kurt Angle lost the belt.

• Chris Jericho pinned Chris Benoit to win the European Championship. Overall this match was disappointing. Again Angle lost the belt.

• Rikishi and Kane defeated Road Dogg and X-Pac.

• Triple H defeated The Rock, Mick Foley and Big Show to retain the WWF Championship. This was a disappointing match, but Triple H was the only heel to retain the title at a WM, so the fans were shocked that Rock didn't win.

Overall Grade - B+

My First One

I got into wrestling in 99/00 and I thought it was the coolest thing ever at the time but lets get to the point if Wrestlemania 2000 have failed I would not have been into it. Here is a match by match breakdown. Match 1: Big Boss Man and Bull Buchannan def. Godfather and D'lo Brown: Fit ho's and Ice T singing Pimpin Ain't Easy what more do you want? 7/10 Match 2: Hardcore Battle Royal: Enjoyed it. The mayhem spilled all over the arena. Hardcore Holly won in controversial fashion. This match made me hungry as there were Snickers everywhere in the ring. 9.5/10 Match 3: T and A def. Al Snow and Steve Blackman: Anyone remember the Head Cheese Team? Well after there loss Snow and Blackman battered a Human Cheese. Made me hungry as well, bad match though. 3/10 Match 4: Tag Titles: Triangle Ladder Match: Edge and Christian def. The Dudley Boys and The Hardy Boyz: I didn't know at the time but I witnessed a piece of history in this match. I remember this match for Jeff Hardy's Swantan Bomb off a Ladder onto Bubba Ray Dudley. Match of the Night. 10/10 Match 5: Terri def. The Kat: Awful match these two don't even look good. Time to go and get some cheese and a snicker. 0/10 Match 6: Too Cool and Chyna def. Eddie Guerrero, Perry Saturn and Dean Malinko: See 5. 0/10 Match 7: Intercontental Title: Chris Benoit def. Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle: In 2000 Angle was the Euro and IC Champ until a certain muppet :cough Bob Backlund cough: made him defend both titles at Mania. The rules are the first match is for the IC Title as soon as the title is won we go to the Euro Title match. Good match all 3 wrestlers are great pure wrestlers. 9/10 Match 8: Euro Title: Chris Jericho def. Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle: I felt so sorry for Kurt he didn't even get pinned and he lost both titles. He was left crying in the ring. This match gets a 10 however because Jericho won and at the time I was a big Jerichaloic, not anymore but I was then. 10/10 Match 9: Kane & Rikish def. X-Pac and Road Dogg: As anyone who has read my WM19 review will now I am a big fan of the D-O-Double G. But I wanted Kane n Riksih to win this. Pete Rose got chokeslammed for the 3rd and final time. Match 10: Fatal Four Way for the WWF/E Title: Triple H def. The Rock, Big Show and Mick Foley. The Rock was about to win this until Vince who was in his corner hit him with a chair so his son-in-law could win the title. 8.5/10 Great event just some bad matches. Rent it if you can I enjoyed it.

1. Godfather/D Lo Brown Vs. Big Boss Man/Bull Buchanan - I was surprised for clean victory of heels. (BB,BBB) 7/10

2. Battle Royal Hardcore Championship: Tazz, Viscera, Mean Street Posse, Champ-Crash, Hardcore Holly, Kai en Tai, Head Bangers, Acolytes - There were a lot of champions in that bout incl. Mean Street Posse - lol. My tip was for Acolytes, but then unclearly Hardcore Holly Won that in 15th minute. 6.5/10

3. Al Snow/Steve Blackman Vs. T&A - Test and Albert won, Debut of Thrish Stratus. 7/10

4. Ladder Match: Dudley Boys Vs. Edge/Christian Vs. Champs-Hardy Boyz - A lot of breathtaking action, I remember Jeff's Senton Bomb through the table outside the ring :-O . Dudley deserved that, but E+CH won. 10/10

5. CatFight: The Kat Vs. Terri - I don't like those things, that incl."old very funny silly granma" Mae Young. That always want to get naked. Terri won in unclean way and was there a nice shot on her a$$ 4/10

6. The Radicalz Vs. Chyna/Too Cool - Eddie job to Chyna, OK, i'm not into that "family entertainment"stuff. 6/10

7. Rikishi/Kane Vs. X-Pac/Road Dogg 6/10

8. Fatal 4 way WWF World Heavyweight Title Match: Mick Foley Vs. Big Show Vs. The Rock Vs. Champ-Triple H - I was sad, that Foley was out like 3rd. But I laugh hard, when Triple H won. 8.5/10

WrestleMania 2000 Thoughts

WrestleMania 2000 (also known as WrestleMania 16) was the 16th annual WrestleMania. It took place on April 2, 2000, at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim in Anaheim, California. Attendence was said to be at 19,776. The event was remembered for mostly being a hardcore PPV with almost all matches having NO DQ. It's also quite remembered for lack of one on one encounters. The main event featured a four corners elimination match for the WWE Championship with each star having a McMahon as the manager as the McMahons were in a big feud. This could also be said to the PPV that the Hardys, Edge & Christian, and the Dudley Boyz began to rise up top and made a name for themselves as they all pretty much stole the show.

The Good - The Triangle Ladder Match was a great boost for the show. While all three teams would have more amazing classics in the future, it was still a great match. The Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental and European Championship was a good mid card filler too. All three Superstars looked good in their WrestleMania debut. While the main event is quite infamous for being more about the McMahons, it still personally was a fun match. It got really interesting when Triple H and The Rock were clashing for the final 10-15 minutes.

The Meh - outside of 3 matches majority of the card was okay but not memorable. Show also had a lot of time wasted. I also think having Undertaker and Stone Cold missing kinda affected the show. Sure the WWF at the time had a lot of stars but those 2 alone probably would have been a major impact at this show.

The Bad - All the multi-man matches. Like this concept was definitely a failure. Triple H and The Rock fighting was just proof that the main event should have been something between them as Big Show and Mick Foley were completely forgotten. Having all those stars in the Hardcore Battle Royal was obviously just to get them paid. The Catfight was an embarrassment and shouldn't have even been on the card. I mentioned earlier that the main event felt more personal between the McMahons than the Superstars. As much as I think the match is fun, it's a HUGE drag due to all the focus on them through promos and replay's building up to the show.

Overall - WWF was at this point the big promotion over WCW and the name next to pro wrestling on the internet (or magazine back in the day). But this show sadly was a flop. Kinda ironic how the most popular time period of all time in the companies history didn't do so well with the 2 straight WrestleManias until 2001. Still will give it credit for being better than the previous.

Wrestle Mania 2000 is without doubt one of the funniest things I have seen in my entire life. Wrestlers doing battle with cookie sheets, old ladies fighting, and a small Mexican guy dressed up as a piece of cheese(I am not making any of this up) are just a few of the shenanigans that went on. And let's not forget about the ladder fight. What concerns me the most are the people who take this sort of thing seriously as if the outcome of the who will win will determine whether or not the earth will still spin on its axis. So suffice to say it was enjoyable if not for the reasons of the people who put it on. Truly hilarious. If you are looking for a good laugh find someone with a copy and watch it.

Don't believe the critics-Tradition was made to be broken!!

So Tradition dies at WrestleMania 2000. So What! It makes for one hell of a shock, and a damn good rental or keeper! Don't know what I mean?? Well rent the tape!!!

And lest I forget about the 3-Way LADDER MATCH!!!!! A Classic In every sense of the word.

I think that this particular Wrestlemania was a waste of my time and money ordering it on PPV. The worst match was the main event. It wasn't setup well and the story line was horrible. Out of all the Wrestlemania's, I rate this as my least favorite. But of course, that's only "my" opinion.

My Fav Wrestlemania

This is my favorite Wrestlemania so far. I am attending Wres-19 this year. I loved this one though. A McMahon in every corner. Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley in Triple H's corner. Linda McMahon in Mick Foley's Corner. Shane McMahon in Big Show's Corner. and Vince McMahon in the Rocks corner. Vince turned his back on The Rock and help his little girl so that her husband Triple H could be the champion. 10/10. I loved Stephanie and Triple H together.

For what they had to work with, this event was amazing!

At the time of this event Stone Cold and the Undertaker were injured and yet with a thinned roster yet the WWF was able to produce an awesome wrestlemania. One of the things that made this wrestlemania so special is that there were no single matches but instead all special matches. While there were many matches that were at the most mediocre there were a handful of awesome matches that made up for those. These included:

1. 15-minute Battle Royal for the Hardcore Title-While it may not have been a great match this match was super entertaining. (8 out of 10)

2.)Three Way Ladder match for the WWF Tag Team Championship: The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley) (c) vs. Edge and Christian (Edge and Christian) vs. The Hardy Boyz (Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy)- It was the 3rd best match of the night and will always go down as one of the greatest matches of all time. (9 out of 10)

3.)Two-Fall Triple Threat Match for the WWF Intercontinental and WWF European Championships: Kurt Angle (c) vs. Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit. This match featuring 3 soon to be wrestlemania main even superstars was amazing. You could not have much of a better triple threat match. (10 out of 10)

4.Fatal Four Way Elimination Match for the WWF Championship: Triple H (w/Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley) (c) vs. The Rock (w/Vince McMahon) vs. Mick Foley (w/Linda McMahon) vs. The Big Show (w/Shane McMahon)-This match was by far the greatest match of the night. A very surprise ending. This is my favorite wrestlemania main event match behind the iron man match. (10 out of 10)

The rest of the matches were not amazing but they kept the show entertaining.

Favorite Pay Per View Ever

I use to always watch this on VHS as a little kid, constantly. Now that I thin about this PPV, it's good for memories of the Attitude Era. What was unique about this PPV was that there was no one-on-one singles matches. I enjoyed just about every single match.

D'lo Brown & Godfather vs Bossman & Buchanan This was a pretty good match plus a good performance from Ice-T. 3/5

Hardcore Battle Royal Great nonstop hardcore action! 5/5

Al Snow & Blackman vs Test & Albert Good filler match but not the best match on the show 2/5

Edge & Christian vs Hardy Boyz vs Dudley Boyz Personally, my favorite match in the whole PPV and these 6 Wrestlemania rookies did a great job putting on a fantastic Ladder match. 5/5

Terri vs The Kat Could've been better 1/5

Radiculz vs Chyna & Too Cool Great 6-person tag match. 4/5

Kurt Angle vs Chris Benoit vs Chris Jericho Yet another match with all Wrestlemania rookies and they put on a fantastic nonstop action match. 5/5

Rikishi & Kane vs Road Dogg & X-Pac Pretty easy going match, it was more entertaining than good 3/5

The Rock vs Mick Foley vs Triple H vs Big Show Almost a whole hour of amazing action and wrestling! 5/5

the Hardy Boys match alone made the PPV worth it

1st match: Godfather and D'lo Brown come out with Iced D singing a new Godfather song. They're going to be fighting against Big Boss Man and Bull Buchannan who ended up winning the match and chased the Godfather's hoes up the ramp. an OK match 7 out of 10. Stephanie Mcmahon and Triple H talk of the upcoming main match. The rules are giving to the participants of the next match. 2nd Match: Hardcore Battle Royal included Tazz, Viscera, The Mean street posse, Hardcore Holly, Kai en Tai, the Headbangers, The Acolytes, and the Hardcore Champion Crash Holly. there was a lot of belt changes during the 15 minute match as the participants fought in and out of the ring. Hardcore Holly ended up winning by hitting Crash with a container of Snickers 7/10. Cut to a snippet of WWF Axxess. Al Snow and Steve Blackman talk in the bathroom. 3rd match: Al Snow and Steve Blackman come out the the ring. Snow introduces Chester McCheezerton (a Latino midget in a cheese suit before starting their match with the tag team, TNA (Test and Albert accompanied by Trish Stratus). JR's headset conks out for a little bit. TNA win in a pretty poor match. Al snow and Steve Blackman start beating up the midget. 2/10. Kat and May Young talk backstage about the upcoming match. Kat is nude but because of strategically placed item you never see anything. Lame comedy. Micheal Cole interviews the Dudley Boys. 4th match: Christian and Edge Vs. The Hardy Boys Vs. the Dudley Boyz in a Triple-threat ladder match. Christian an Edge eventually win. Some amazing aerial moves, the addition of a few tables, and a VERY memorable Swanton Bomb made this one an insanely great match. 10/10. Mick Foley and Linda McMahon are interviewed by Kevin Kelley. 5th match: Kat Vs. Trish Stratuswith guest referee Val Venus. The less said about this match, the better. Women matches ALWAYS suck balls 0/10. Promo for Westlemania 21 at Housten, TX. 6th Match: The Radicals are beat by Too Cool, do you remember these two amazing teams? No? Yea I'd like to forget them too. They stink up the place. 0/10. the winner of a contest is revealed. Big Show and Shane talk.Clip of earlier that night on "Sunday night Heat". Kurt Angle then talks to the head of security. 7th & 8th matches Chris Jericho vs. Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit for the Intercontental Title and then right after the same wrestlers for the European belt. Benoit won the first and Jericho won the second. These were just alright. Both were 5/10. Vince McMahon is interviewed. Triple H and Stephanie talk again. 9th Match X-PAC & Road Dogg Vs. Rikishi and Kane who win. the stink face, and especially the Worm both stink. Pet Rose gets choke slammed by Kane once again and then stink faced by Rikishi. 3/10. The Rock is interviewed. 10th match and time for the main event which is a Fatal Four Way Elimination Match for the World Wrestling Federation Championship The Rock (with Vince) vs. Big Show (with Shane) vs. Mick Foley (with Linda) vs. Triple H (with Stephanie). The Rock won in a pretty good match 7/10 After the show there's a recap and post-match interviews on the DVD.

A Great WrestleMania!

People Wine all the time because they say that "Tradition was broken at WrestleMania 2000" So what! Tradition needs to be broken sometimes. And it didn't hurt much because it was like one of the only wrestlemanias where the title didn't change hands (not including wrestlemania 1). But Wrestlemania 2000 was a great wrestlemania with great matches. Too bad wrestling isn't much like it was then. Although I am still a die hard wrestling fan. The Main event although Kind of predictable , but it was good! Vince Mcmahon turning on The Rock to help his little girl , help her hubby retain the gold. Good stuff there, kind of started an era...and ended one.

A very mediocore show. HHH winning really sucked because WrestleMania is supposed to be a "Make the fans go home happy" show.

Match 1: Big Bossman and Bull Buchanan vs Godfather and Dlo Brown Bull and Dlo started off the match. Dlo hit Bull with a heel kick. Double team work by Godfather and Dlo on Bull. Bossman is tagged in and Godfather knocks him down with two clotheslines. Dlo backs Bull into the corner for ten shots to the head. Bull hit a top rope clothesline on Dlo. Bull drop toe holds Dlo neck first onto the ropes. Bull with an axe kick on Dlo for a two count. Bull and Bossman double team Dlo while the ref is fighting with Godfather. Bossman with a backbreaker on Dlo for a two count. Godfather crotches Bull on the ropes. Dlo with a huricanrana on Bull from the top rope. Dlo finally tags in Godfather who cleans house. Godfather hits the hoe train on Bossman. Out of no where, Bossman hits Dlo with a sidewalk slam followed up by a top rope leg drop by Bull for the win. Winners: Big Bossman and Bull Buchanan

Match 2: Hardcore Battle Royal for the Hardcore Title. The entrants are Tazz, Viscera, Pete Gas, Rodney, Joey Abbs, Hardcore Holly, Taka, Funaki, Mosh, Thrasher, Faarooq, Bradshaw, and the hardcore Champion himself- Crash Holly. Pinfalls count all throughout the match. Who ever has the belt last when the 15 minutes are up is the winner. Match starts off with everyone brawling. Tazz immediately pins Crash with a head and arm Taz plex. A few minutes later Viscera pins Tazz on the outside. The Posse are attacking Viscera with every weapon possible. The aPa start focusing their attention on Viscera. Hardcore busted Crash open. Crash is bleeding heavily. Viscera regains his momentum and starts attacking the aPa. Bradshaw lays about everyone out with cookie sheet shots to the head. Joey Abbs knocks Tazz to the ground with several shots to the head with a cookie sheet. The aPa slam Viscera from the top rope. aPa continue their double team on Viscera. Funaki sneaks in and gets a cover on Viscera for the pin. Funaki runs to the back with the Posse chasing him. Rodney pins Funaki. Joey Abbs pins Rodney with a gutwrench suplex on the concrete. Thrasher pins Abbs. Thrasher runs back to the arena with all the wrestlers chasing him. Pete Gas pins Thrasher after a fire extinguisher shot to the head. Tazz pins Pete Gas with a suplex on the outside. Holly Cousins start double teaming Tazz with less than three minutes to go. Holly's start fighting with each other, both wanting to make the pin on Tazz. Crash knocks down Tazz with a cookie sheet shot to the head for the pin. With 30 seconds left Tazz puts the tazmission on Crash. Hardcore comes in and makes the save and makes a pin attempt on Crash. Hardcore barely gets the 3 count. The replay showed Crash kicking out before the time ran out. Winner and new Hardcore Champion: Hardcore Holly

Match 3: Al Snow and Steve Blackman vs Test and Prince Albert Before the match Al got on the mic and said he had a surprise for Blackman. Chester McCheese, a human block of cheese, came down to the ring. Al instructed for him to chat "Lets go HeadCheese." Match starts off with Test and Blackman going at it. Al is tagged in and gets double teamed by T&A. Blackman knocks Albert down with a running shoulder block. Snow and Blackman double clothesline Albert for a two count. Blackman with a flying headbutt on Albert for a two count. Albert with a double arm suplex on Snow. Test with a sidewalk slam on Snow. Blackman makes the save. Snow hits a moonsault to the outside on Albert. Albert press slams Test on Blackman for a two count. Albert press slams Blackman followed up by a top rope elbow from Test for the pin. After the match Snow appologizes to Blackman, then they both start beating on Chester McCheese. Winners: Test and Prince Albert

Match 4: Three Way LADDER Match for the World Tag Team Titles Christian and Edge vs Hardy Boys vs Dudley Boys Match starts off with everybody fighting on the outside. Buh Buh backs Jeff Jardy into the corner and slaps at his chest. Buh Buh with a sit-down atomic drop on Jeff. Christian brings the first ladder into the ring. Matt Hardy throws a ladder right in the face of Buh Buh. Matt comes off the top with an elbow drop on Dvon who was laying on the ladder. Jeff misses a 450 splash and lands right on the ladder after Buh Buh moves out of the way. Dvon places a ladder on top of Edge. Buh Buh starts knocking everyone who comes after him out with the ladder. Edge and Christian dropkick the ladder in Buh Buh's face. Christian climbs to the top of the ladder and launches himself out to the floor on Jeff and Buh Buh. Edge springboards off the ropes and spears Jeff right off the ladder. Christian knocks Dvon off a ladder by throwing another ladder at him. Buh Buh hits a modified version of the 3D on Christian off the ladder which was absolutely amazing! Hardys come off opposite ladders at the same time landing on Dvon. Edge and Christian double suplex Dvon from the top of the ladder. Edge hits Matt with a neckbreaker off the top of the ladder while at the same time Matt hits Christian with a facebuster from the top of the opposite ladder. All 3 ladders are set up and all 6 men are on them. All the ladders fall and all 6 men fall in opposite directions. The Dudleys sandwich Christian between 2 ladders. Dudleys hit the 3D on Edge. The Dudleys now put some tables in the ring. The Dudleys place a table across the top of 2 ladders making themselves a platform. Buh Buh sets up a table out on the floor. Buh Buh drags Matt on top of the spanish announce table and powerbombs him through the table that he set up. Jeff tried doing his running off the security railing, but Buh Buh threw a ladder right in his face. Buh Buh now sets up a ladder in the entrance way. Buh Buh then sets up a table right in front of that ladder. Christian hits Buh Buh with the ring bell. Buh Buh falls on top of the table. Jeff sees it and climbs the ladder. Swanton bomb from the top of the ladder on Buh Buh through the table! Matt hits the twist of fate on Dvon inside the ring. Matt and Christian climb the platform that the Dudleys built. Edge follows them up and knocks Matt off the platform through a table. Edge and Christian then grab the title belts for the win. Winners and new Tag Team Champions: Edge and Christian

Match 5: Cat Fight Match. The Kat (with Mae Young) vs. Terri (with Fabulous Moolah) Val Venis is the referee. Val of course did some mic work before the match. Match starts off with Kat shoving Terri. Val and Terri start kissing. Terri throws Kat down by her hair. Kat takes Terri down with a spear. kat threw terri out of the ring but Val had his back turned paying attention to Mae. Mae kisses Val while Kat throws Terri out of the ring again. Moolah pulls Kat out of the ring and Terri runs back in. Val finally got away from Mae and seen that Terri was the only one in the ring and declared her the winner. After the match Mae puts the bronco buster on Moolah. Kat starts stripping Terri but Moolah ends up covering her up. No nudity. Sorry folks :( Winner: Terri

Match 6: Too Cool and Chyna vs. Eddy Guerrero, Dean Malenko, and Perry Saturn. Match starts off with Scotty Too Hotty and Eddie Guerrero going at it. Scotty with a tilt a whirl backbreaker on Eddie. Scotty tags in Chyna but eddie runs and tags in Dean Malenko. Chyna and Grandmaster Sexay double suplex Malenko. Sexay with a belly to back suplex on Guerrero. Saturn knocks Sexay off the top before he could hit the hip hop drop on Guerrero. Saturn and Malenko double clothesline Sexay. Scotty tagged in and Guerrero hangs him out to dry on the ropes. Guerrero gets a cheap shot in on Chyna. Sexay suplexes Guerrero out to the floor. Scotty dumps Saturn on his face then does the worm on Saturn AND Malenko. Saturn hits a top rope elbow drop on Scotty. Scotty crotches Guerrero on the ropes. Scotty follows Guerrero up and hits a superplex. Scotty tags in Chyna. Guerrero tries to avoide Chyna while she takes care of Saturn and Malenko. After several high spot moves by Chyna, Guerrero low blows her. Chyna grabs Guerrero right in the family jewels. Chyna then grabs Guerrero in a sleeper then drops him to the mat for the pin. Winners: Too Cool and Chyna

Match 7: Two fall Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental and European Championships Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle Match starts off with Benoit attacking Angle before he can even enter the ring. Jericho dropicks Benoit into the corner. Jericho went for a springboard but Benoit tripped him up. Jericho finally pulls off the springboard dropkick and knocks Benoit and Angle off the ring apron. Jericho chops Benoit in the corner. Benoit knocks Jericho off the top rope face first into the announce table. Jericho with a missile dropkick on Angle, Benoit makes the save. Jericho with a bulldog on Angle for a two count. Jericho puts Benoit in a modified version of the camel clutch, Angle breaks it up. Angle puts the crossface chicken wing on Jericho. Benoit breaks it up by dropkicking Angle in the head. Benoit with a top rope headbutt on Jericho for the pin. Benoit is now the Intercontinental Champion. Jericho crotches Angle on the ropes. Benoit comes up and crotches Jericho on the ropes right behind Angle. Benoit with a belly to back suplex on Jericho. Angle follows up by missing a moonsault. Yes, a moonsault. Jericho puts Angle in the Walls of Jericho, Benoit breaks it up. Jericho hits Benoit with a spinning heel kick. Jericho double powerbombs Angle but Benoit breaks it up. Benoit with multiple german suplexes on Jericho, Angle breaks it up. The ref gets knocked out. Benoit puts Jericho in the crippler crossface. jericho tapped out but there was no ref. Jericho gets out of it and puts Benoit in the Walls of Jericho. Angle breaks it up by hitting Jericho with the belt. Benoit with a belly to back suplex on Angle then goes to the top to miss the diving headbutt. Out of no where Jericho hits the springboard moonsault on Benoit for the pin. Jericho is now the European Champion. Winners- Chris Jericho- New European Champion Chris Benoit- New Intercontinental Champion

Match 8: Kane and Rikishi vs. X-Pac and Road Dogg Before the bell rang, Tori and Paul bearer were arguing. Tori slapped Bearer. Kane went after her but she ran into the ring thinking she was safe. Rikishi was fixing to stick his ass in her face but Xpac and RoadDogg pulled her out. Xpac with a spinning heel kick on Rikishi followed up by the bronco buster. RoadDogg does the juke n jive then the shake, rattle, and knee drop on Rikishi. Kane is tagged in and cleans house. Bearer throws Tori in the ring. Rikishi finally rubs his ass in her face. Kane tombstones Xpac for the pin. After the match Too Cool come to the ring. The San Diego chicken also comes into the ring. Kane looks at the chicken thinking he might be Pete Rose. Finally, Too Cool, Rikishi, and the chicken dance. After the dance Kane grabs the chicken but the real Pete Rose sneaks up behind Kane with a baseball bat. Kane turned around and caught him with a chokeslam. Rikishi then rubs his ass in Pete Rose's face. For the third year in a row Kane has taken care of Pete Rose. Winners: Kane and Rikishi

Match 9: Fatal Four Way Elimination Match for the World Wrestling Federation Championship The Rock vs. Big Show vs. Mick Foley vs. Triple H Match starts off with all 4 men going at it. Triple H pounds on Foley in the corner. Foley with a running knee on Triple H. Big Show double clotheslines Foley and Triple H. Big Show press slams The Rock, then Triple H. Foley jumps on Big Show's back. Big Show just falls backwards putting Foley to the mat. Big Show with a sidewalk slam on The Rock. Foley, Rock, and HHH triple team the Big Show. Foley clotheslines Triple H out of the ring. Foley hits Triple H in the abdomen with a chair. Shane gets on the ring apron and Rock knocks him off. Foley hits Big Show with a chair. Rock then eliminates Big Show with the rock bottom. Triple H tries to persuade Foley into double teaming The Rock. Foley says no. Triple H then tries the same thing with The Rock. Rock says yes then he and Foley double team Triple H. Foley and Rock double clothesline Triple H. Foley slings Triple H into a clothesline from The Rock on the outside. Rock nails Foley by accident with the ring bell after Triple H ducked. Foley pulls out his 2x4 wrapped in barb wire. Triple H racks Foley before he can hit him with it. Foley puts the double arm ddt on Triple H followed up by the mandible claw. Rock comes in to put the people's elbow on Triple H but Foley puts the mandible claw on Rock. Triple H low blows Rock and Foley. Rock clotheslines Triple H. Foley clotheslines Rock for a two count. Foley with the double arm ddt on Rock for a two count. Foley grabs a chair but Rock kicks it back in his face. Rock with a ddt on Foley, Triple H makes the save. Foley and Triple H start double teaming Rock. Foley and Triple H double suplex Rock. Foley holds Rock so Triple H can nail him. Rock started making a comeback but Foley hit him with the ring steps. Triple H lays Rock on the spanish announce table. Foley comes off the top turnbuckle onto Rock. Foley hurts himself at the same time. Back in the ring, Foley kicks out of a pedigree from Triple H. Triple H hits a homerun with a chair on Foley's head. Pedigree on the chair and that's it for Foley. Foley walks out to a standing ovation. But Foley turns around and heads back to the ring. Foley grabs the barb wire and nails Triple H with it. Foley finally ends up leaving. Rock covers and gets a two count. Rock clotheslines Triple H out of the ring. Rock drags Triple H up by the Titan Trons where he suplexes him on the concrete. Rock drags Triple H back to ringside where he bounces his head off the timekeeper's table. Triple H regains momentum after hitting the ring steps back in The Rock's face. Triple H then piledrives Rock on the steps. Triple H puts Rock in the ring and makes a cover and only gets a two count. Rock counters a pedigree by backdropping Triple H out to the floor. Rock drags Triple H out into the crowd and finally back to ringside. Rock with a spinebuster on Triple H on the floor. Rock suplexes Triple H through the main announce table. Triple H drop toe holds The Rock face first into the steps. Vince throws Triple H into the ring post. Shane comes out and rams Vince's head into the TV monitors. Vince gets up and hammers away on Shane. Shane knocks Vince out with a chair shot. Vince is busted open and gets carried to the back by Patterson and Brisco. Rock with a ddt on Triple H for a two count. Rock with a tilt a whirl slam on Triple H for another two count. Triple H nails Rock with a facebuster and then the barb wire. Rock catapults Triple H right into Shane. Rock bottom on Triple H. Shane picks up the chair but Vince runs back down into the ring and attacks Shane. Vince grabs the chair and hits Rock in the head with a chair. Triple H makes the cover but Rock kicks out. Vince hits Rock again with the chair. This time Triple H gets the pin. After the match Vince and Stephanie hug while the fans shower them with drinks. Shane comes back into the ring. Vince tells him to get away from them. Rock runs back into the ring and puts the rock bottom on Shane and Vince. Stephanie slaps Rock then Rock puts her in the rock bottom and then the people's elbow. Winner and Still WWF World Heavyweight Champion: Triple H

I didn't think this was a very good Wrestlemania. For a Wrestlemania event I would expect better matches. This PPV was just plain dumb and boring. I thought a lot of matches could have been better or scraped. This PPV deserves a C

Go up to any recent WWF fan and ask them about 2000 and most will remember those few months when the PPV's were amasing, it all started at the Royal Rumble in January continued for a 4 month period ending at Backlash which brought forward SCSA. I would sudgest anyone to get this PPV, but before you do buy or rent Royal Rumble 2000 and No Way Out 2000 because they do follow each other on in an incredable fashion.

Many see the WWF as a stupid program with no real story line and is over acted, I would say to those people 'rubbish', the WWF is as credable and believeable as Eastenders and Coronation Street, except in this case there are Table, Chairs and Ladders!

Worst WrestleMania Ever!

Ok, I could cut it some slack but this is the worst wrestlemania i've ever seen. It might be because it couldnt compare to WrestleMania XV. *SPOILERS AHEAD* The main event was terrible but matter of fact to show you the main event was terrible lets go back to No Way Out (Which i think was better than WrestleMania) It was the Rock vs. The Big Show for who got a title shot at WrestleMania 2000. The Rock had it done and over with, as he had a Peoples Elbow but when he was crossing the ropes the one and only rich boy Shane McMahon planted him with a chair. He landed on top of the Big Show and Shane put Big Show on top of the Rock. End of story.Oh but wait there is more. The main event was still to come Cactus Jack vs. Triple H. This to me was better than WrestleMania 2000 the whole show!! He put Cactus through the ring which was sweet! Obviously, Triple H won. Now the match at WrestleMania 2000 was going to be Triple H vs. The Big Show for the WWF (Now WWE) Championship! As The Rock put it if this was the main event for WrestleMania then it was just gonna suck! Well that all changed it turned into Mick Foley vs. The Rock vs. Triple H vs. The Big Show. Sounds like a good match doesnt it? Well thats what i thought when i payed 50$ to watch it on PPV! All the other matches completely needed help, except MAYBE the euro-continental championship match which i think was better than the main event. Triple H won of course I had figured that out when the match started Big Show was dominating but was the first one out. Mick tried to do an elbow drop of the top of the ring onto the table surprisingly missing. Vince McMahon screwing The Rock out of the title was not that surprising. As they all hugged Triple H, Vince, and Princess Stephanie! I give it 0.5/10 for the euro-continental championship match which i actually liked a little. But the main event was just a regular match that RAW could produce.

This was the best ladder match in wwf history.Even tho wrestling is fake this proves it's not.Jeff Hardy did a senton bomb off of a 20-25ft ladder on to Buh Buh Ray Dudley laying on a table outside of the ring,and Buh Buh Ray Dudley powerbombed Jeff Hardy on a table off of a commentery booth on to the mat.If you are a wrestling fan you'd love this tape.
