If there were a way to give this documentary 0 stars and write a review, I would.
Literally the worst example of tribalism, bigotry and misogyny at work.
Yes it's an old documentary but good Lord, what is the difference between a one night stand and an arranged marriage?!
Not one single mention of sexual chemistry or sexual compatibility. There's one woman in this video who declares herself as the next Martha Stewart before meeting a guy yet complains that he is too misogynistic for her after meeting him. She also comments that he's too short and not attractive enough even though she herself is short and not particularly attractive. This woman in particular is epitome of tribalism, arrogance and what it is to be devoid of humanity or spirituality.
The guy Hanif just seems lost in the world of a stoned hippie and the Hindu girl cries down the phone to her mother after her arranged marriage and states "he is not how I thought he would be, he is moody etc"....And probably not what she wanted in terms of a lover either.
Aside from spending your life with someone you barely know, agreeing to sleep with someone for the rest of your life who you may/may not be sexually compatible can mean a lifetime of traumatic sexuality!
This documentary is absurd if its aim is to show that arranged marriages are somehow good and acceptable!!!
