In 2001, the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) seized prints of Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, after it was discovered the movie was funded by the Mumbai underworld, which has resulted in a well publicised controversy known as The Bharat Shah Case.
While Salman Khan and Priety Zinta were working for Jaaneman 2006.An old audio tape came out in which a drunk Salman Khan is abusing Aiswariya Rai and was bad mouthing Priety Zinta and sharing incidents from sets of this film.Priety Zinta then had refused to shoot with Salman Khan for Jaaneman until their differences were sorted.
In January 1997, Subhash Ghai had signed Anil Kapoor,Manisha Koirala and Akshaye Khanna for a film titled "Chori Chori Chupke Chupke" to be directed by Kuku Kohli. The film was previously being made as "Charitra" with Jackie Shroff, Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar. The film was shelved eventually.
