I normally have a much better opinion on Romanian movies and also on Rona Hartner...but I have to say that this movie sucks. If you're going to see a movie with Rona Hartner, I strongly suggest Gadjo Dilo. Her performance there is far better. Overall this feels like a flat boring movie that seems to have been made because they HAD to make a movie. They've put some of the younger actors along with Romania's acting 'dinosaurs' in a tasteless production.

it is its only virtue. a film who is only the second part of "A doua cadere a Constantinopolului", mixture of vulgarity and crazy situations, without a real script, using good actors in roles of sh.t. exhibition, Oriental flavor, a lot of characters without precise status. all as parts of a story about nothing. sure, it is expression of a freedom who, has not real definition. but that could not have excuses. because is only argument of a deep crisis who presents , behind the new Romanian cinema wave, the reality using two colors - the kitsch - that film is an useful example, the cold , cruel details, moral ruins and cold images -" Pepe si Fifi" is the second alternative. a film like a basket with moldy slices of bread.

the first temptation - to criticize this mountain of kitsch and absurd situation. but , for the pity/respect for actors, you ignore this way. because it is only one of Romanian experiments after 1989. eccentric, bizarre and childish temptation to be "cool". and nothing more. it is not more than a collection of clichés and expression of the desire of a good director to be favorite of a new public. but the film has not script or characters or reasonable story. it is an improvisation about...nothing. and the humor, if you are not very critic, could be defined as absurd.but it is a term very, very, very polite in this case.
