I just saw this video for the first time last week and wanted to get more info on IMDb, from which there was none... However, there is good news for us all... Go to Youtube and enter the title as a search word and you can see The Pilot... Neat. Tell your friends. -------------

Unpopular girl Turns Masked Breakdancer-Very Inspirational
john-13149 April 2004
I found the film very inspirational as a kid. It sounds funny since it is a breakdancing show. I related to it so much since I wanted to hide behind a mask my whole way through school. But, we all find our ways to come out and shine. In this tv movie, she came out and shined as a very gifted breakdancer. Wonderful show! Glad I had it as a kid. I too as most kids of the eighties did breakdancing. Though I was very poor at it as a kid, I begged for acceptance. I dreamed of big things but was made fun of so much as a kid. This show made you say, "Laugh all you want at me. I Have Talent!!!!" The summer I seen this video, I won 1st place at a county fair talent contest for breakdancing. Though I had little talent at it, I had the courage to get up there and do it. I won, and I got a free ride pass for the whole day at the fair. I had kids following me around!!!! I was something. This show, was by the days standards, very inspirational!!!! Thanks.

Relatable for any '80s kid

I had recorded this when I was high school on our $350 VCR. I watched it so many times I began to wear out the tape. I had to make a copy of it. It got me up and moving and dancing. The tape #2 broke. I was excited to learn our high school had a copy of it. I had girls watching it and learning the moves, I did as well. I highly recommend it.

Great Movie

I really enjoyed this short TV Movie. My sister and I recorder this movie back in the late 80's. Everyday after school we would watch and try to perfect all the dance moves. This movie was very inspirational. It has a very good message. The thing I like about this movie is that she went from being a very unpopular girl to the best break dancer. So she proved a lot of people wrong! Whenever me and my sister get on the subject of 'Breakdancing', this movie is the first movie that comes to mind, but it seems like no one really has ever heard of it! THEIR LOST! Kelly Jo Minter really did a very good job!! This is one of the few movies I remember during my childhood.

I saw this on saturday one morning when i was a little kid, i used to dream about being a breakdancer. I never forgot kelli jo and i never fotgot her role as the pilot even though i frequently saw her playing various other roles. Great for any kid male or female who desires to express themselves in any artistic form.

Revenge of the 80's: Kelly Jo Minter Superstar.
Captain_Couth2 February 2005
Warning: Spoilers
The Pilot (1984) was one of those short made-for-t.v. movies that used to come on the idiot box during the afternoons. Kind of like an A.B.C. After School Special but with a smaller budget. I saw this one on Select T.V. This short is about a bunch of break-dancers. Kelly Jo Minter makes her debut as a teenage girl who wants to become one of the guys. But she never gets a chance because she's a GIRL! Determined to prove everyone wrong, she re-invents herself as a mysterious break-dancer known as "The Pilot". Under this guise she busts moves and leaves the competition in the dust.

Cheesy fun. Midly recommended.

Great mini movie

This was a great movie to watch back in the day. This movie started my friends and I on a break dancing frenzy. I would love to find a copy of this film. The Pilot- This was an ABC afternoon special. I'm not sure where you can get it but if you can find it check it out. It's about this chick who break dances in her room and is a totally awesome, but is afraid to go out and cut. So, she puts on this pilot outfit complete with a helmet and a black tinted visor and goes to these cutting' sessions and beats everybody, but nobody knows who she is. It's a bad story with terrible acting but, this flick contains some of the best "windmills" and "headspins" ever captured on film.

Warning: Spoilers
I saw this short film on H.B.O years ago... i remember the main characters (main breakers)went by the names "the Pilot" and "OZ". The pilot would come out to battle breakers in a full head to toe aviator suit (helmet goggles and all) hence the name the Pilot. Turns out the "Pilot" was a teenage female who hid under the disguise to conceal her identity and sex. that was until her last battle with the #1 breaker at the time "OZ", where she battled him w/out her disguise and received all the recognition she had earned. I remember thinking this flick was excellent, the break'n in the film timeless.... then again I was only 10yrs old, but never the less I'd love to see it again!
