Pretty Funny Recap of the 1968-1973 TV Show
mrb19802 May 2015
In 1968, Dan Rowan and Dick Martin seemed as though they had come out of nowhere, when in fact they had been a comedy team for over 15 years by that time. "Laugh-In" was revolutionary, irreverent, and pretty daring (for the late 1960s) and thus became a hit show for several years. This special from 1993 reunites most of the old cast, including Dick Martin, Ruth Buzzi, Jo Anne Worley, Alan Sues, Dave Madden, Arte Johnson, Goldie Hawn, Judy Carne, Gary Owens, and many others. Some new footage of the cast (now much older) is used along with old clips from the show.

When compared to horribly expensive commercially available "Laugh-In" DVDs, this show is quite good, featuring lots of guest stars (Edward G. Robinson, George Raft, Jack Benny, Johnny Carson, James Garner, Kirk Douglas, John Wayne, many others) and the usual cast. Rowan and Martin do their usual thing in the middle of frantic, non-stop comedy routines.

This anniversary show is not available on DVD (except some DVDs captured from VHS) so I'm glad I recorded this 22 years ago. If you want to see 1968 and 1969 frozen in time, take a look. It'll be a stroll down memory lane if you remember those long-ago days.

Reunion of Old Friends
shelbythuylinh19 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Really the show was the first rapid fire comedy show. It was very much a show that they were family. As that they would be ahead of it's time there.

And how the stars despite being older reunite like old friends at a family reunion. Now some have passed away but Goldie Hawn remains there.

This was dedicated in memory of Dan Rowan who died in 1987 over cancer. RIP!
