- The characters storm through the levels shooting down and killing various alien and robotic enemies with different kinds of guns. The M-80,000 Helios Bomb is a miniature A-bomb of sorts that massively damages or vaporizes anyone on-screen.
- There are multiple moments where massive collateral damage is dealt to large bosses and structures with a lot of explosions (sometimes filling up the whole screen).
- Every character save for the robot Brownie fall over dead when killed by an enemy.

- During one of the multiple storylines/paths through the game, Colonel Bahamut's underlings are infected by the effects of the alien cell, causing them to mutate into large, horrific forms. Some of the men can be seen on their knees crying for help before they change.
