Stephen Gibbons takes two friends to Florida.
drhodes-114 March 2002
The worst thing about this show is that you can tell the two friends of Stephen Gibbons' don't want to be on camera at all!!! You get the impression they were there just for a free holiday!!

What with the insight you get into the Kennedy Space Center, the things that Gibbons set up for them to do and the opportunity to be on TV itself, you'd think they would have enjoyed and embraced the experience more. But they don't. You just watch the director struggle to make bland and what-could-have-been interesting teenagers and situations more entertaining for the camera - often at his own expense.

Apart from that, it's a cool effort at a different format of TV show, detailing the spectacle of a Shuttle Launch, an extremely informative interview with an astronaut and celebrities, and with it's almost "Holiday Show" type approach to their visits to Universal Studios and Sea World you'd think it would be more watchable. But that's definitely down to Gibbons' friends Ross and Tony reluctance.

The Ross guy comes across as such a big headed, vain and arrogant Jerk, it's impossible not to hate him - and Tony must be the dumbest guy I ever saw in my life! He's such a dumb ass it's not funny!!

If the two guys had been replaced by people who were even remotely interesting, charismatic or even talented, I would have enjoyed the film a whole lot better, and I'm convinced that with Gibbons at the helm it would have been much more entertaining that it turns out to be.

A shame it's not what it could have been, but I'd blame the casting director, or Stephen Gibbons for giving in and putting his "friends" in one of his movies.

Try it again guys - and this time get Frankie Muniz and Robin Williams!!
