I don't think it is the best Cartoon Network cartoon though, Dexter's Laboratory was definitely the most consistent, smartest and most engaging of all their shows put together. While some episodes are very repetitive and there are later episodes that meander quite considerably, Codename:Kids Next Door is one of the funnier and original recent Cartoon Network cartoon shows with a great concept. The story lines are creative, the writing is intelligent and funny, the animation is done in a unique visual style, the theme tune is memorable and the characters are likable with unique personalities, Numbah 1 being the smartest and Numbah 3 being the cutest. The voice acting isn't necessarily award worthy but it is solid and delivers the dialogue perfectly. Overall, funny and original, even if like Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy it lost its way in the later episodes. 8/10 Bethany Cox

The personalities are strong in KND! This makes KND a delight to watch because kids can relate to at least one character whether it's one of the 5 main cast members or the characters outside the treehouse. It's wild and full of adventure! Number 1 is actually one of my favorite kids because he's all about hard work and doing missions. Knowledgeable, agilie, cool as heck and a good sense of humor at times! He's like the Robin in Teen Titans but the child version. If you haven't seen Codename: Kids Next Door, please give it a try at least.

I grew up watching this cartoon and i have to say it's still a good cartoon. I find it funny and creative how they take the problems with growing up and exaggerate them to the point where it may put the whole world in danger. It's cool to see the inventions the kids use to save the world on a regular basis.
The main characters are kids whose code names are simply just numbers. The leader number 1 looks like Stewie from Family Guy with glasses and almost talks like him. His teammates are a chubby kid named number 2, the cheery number 3, the short, irritable number 4 and the laid back number 5. Their job is to save the world from evil adults and other threats like Brussels sprouts. They have several other misadventures as well but that's a different story. Check it out for yourself.

Young or old, if you enjoy cartoons and animation, then you'll enjoy Kids Next Door. The show's concept is relatively simple: a secret agency composed of ten year-olds fights evil adults; the result is a imaginative world that is both inspired by several genres and movies and creates a distinct universe. The comedy is wide-ranging in the ages it appeals to, the action is entertaining despite the show not being the pinnacle of animation, and the plots are original while paying homage to it's sources: many of the episodes are homages with a KND spin that works extremely well. The characters that make up this rich universes might seem like stereotypes at first, but they grow into completely three-dimensional beings that can be both fun and poignant.
Hands down, KND is one of the best original shows on Cartoon Network, keeping with the explosion of comic creativity in the channel that is leagues ahead of most other kid-oriented channels (Nick and Disney come to mind).

Even when I was the target demographic for this, I had mixed feelings about it.
The premise sounds promising on paper: how can I not like the idea of a resistance force of kids undermining an adultcentric society? The problematic nature of childhood as a construct is something I'm finding more and more evidence of in the thing I read (Especially the wonderful "Dialectic of Sex" by Shulamoth Fireston").
This was one of those more excruciating shows that are best enjoyed alone rather than being one of the more irony-inviting, elegant shows like Spongebob or My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. But it was indeed pretty fun a lot of the time. Bold, captivating set pieces with DIY weapons as preteens engage in the espionage and conflict that would be an international crime if any adult sponsored them (they totally gloss over so much in how the parents let them just live alone but that's the fun).
I'm not saying I was adult-loyal as a kid but it used to annoy me a lot about the things I'm supposed to find terrible but aren't like how they just destroy a bunch of pianos or hate the dentist. Maybe that was the point but still, it annoyed me.
As the show went on they paid homage to a ton various genres like westerns and film noir with chidl twists (e.g. they don't mine for gold they mine for chicken nuggets) and a lot of the internal mechanics and the very politics of the thing can easily capture the imagination.
Once in a while they had an "artsy" episode that are always fun. Just wait and see...
Additionally they were conscientious about fighting gender prejudice but not in a preechy way.
Not every episode works but it's mostly pleasantly distracting, disposable media that can be quite physically repugnant but is at least never dull.
Some episodes focus on specific characters doing their own sort of thing.
I remember specifically No.5's adventure with the fourth flavor, homicidal underwear and keeping the Dandelion safe. Oh...and who could forget Battle Ready Armor?

The KND series is without a doubt excellent! The stories and sub plot twists are all integrated into a nice package every time. The artwork is clean & sweet also. Unlike other cartoons that are thrown together and just a lot of messy abstract junky scratches with no real storyline either. But Kids Next Door deliver every time! The 2x4 technology totally rocks! And the Rainbow Monkeys rule!
The animation & cinematography flows perfect in KND and the sf/music meshes perfectly to the action at hand. And there is an endless supply of writing creativity! My favorite cartoon since Sailor Moon.

Used to watch episodes of show. Some=funny and even though I was a kid they made me think. I was a philosophical and curious kid. Most kids, in my opinion, turn off their brain during TV time. Recently I saw the episode C.L.U.E.S. It has nice humor & the twist that he knew who it was all long is a homage to some detective show. Now, cartoons don't have to have humor every episode. However, this one lacks it too often. Here's what 1 IMDb user thinks: "Cartoon Network has been going downhill for the last 2 years. Now they're just showing us these new cartoons, full of idiotic humor and dumb characters. The characters are really annoying.Five kids are screaming all the time and talking words without any sense. They can't say a single word without extreme yelling. Now, I didn't watch a lot of them, but believe me... I've seen enough. Educated people are not watching this piece of garbage. I have a feeling this show is trying to convince children three things: 1. don't go to school 2. don't believe your parents, because they're pure evil 3. if you wanna be cool, you must be retarded and stay in your tree house for the rest of your lives."

Certain episodes many of you will like while others many of you will hate. It's up to you to watch it or if you're older than me (late teens) it's up to you to decide if you want your kids watching it. Brainwashing only works if YOU, the parents, let it. Simply explain that it's just a cartoon and that few people your children will meet even adults are evil.

Codename: Kids Next Door is a cartoon depicting a 5 child chapter of "super agents" part of a much larger organization known as "The Kids Next Door". Using their tree house fortresses sprawled across the globe and their handy "2x4" technology the kids are out to stop "adult tyranny" as well as their super nemeses the "The Delightful Children From Down The Lane" with their evil leader "Father". I personally think this rivals anything Gennedy Tarkovsky has put out in terms of originality, excitement, and humor. This show is chock full of parodies from various niches of pop culture that rarely fall flat, and never get tiresome unlike other cartoons that just take it way too far (Robot Chicken and Family Guy to give some examples). Some of the main characters can get on your nerves (they are brats after all) but the premise and the awesome villains often make you forget the minor annoyances. This show recently ended a few months ago, and I was sad to see it go, but the ending was very fitting. I would recommend this along with Avatar: The Last Airbender as two recent cartoon series that appeal to kids, teenagers, and adults as cartoons with good artistic merit.

I grew up watching this and I have to say, looking back, it was very creative. I like how they take things that would annoy kids such as eating brussel sprouts(which are nasty by the way), going to the dentist, and dealing with older kids. The gadgets the main characters use are pretty ingenious. Goofy yet still clever.

Codename: Kids Next Door was an absurdly brilliant, adorable, and enjoyable show during it's stay at Cartoon Network. It gives kids the credit they deserve; they're not just snot-nosed brats. They have strong emotions, they have intelligence, and they have the willpower and hope to reach their goal no matter what, a quality that seems to fade when you reach adulthood. It was one of the few shows on Cartoon Network I'd try specifically to see, and I was always excited when I just happen to turn on the TV and an episodes on. I'll be eagerly awaiting (and hoping for) a continuation after the series finale, such as a movie or extra episode. I'll also be awaiting the release of the KND seasons on DVD.
A must see for kids of all ages, from 7 to 70.

I've been writing reviews of cartoons lately...it's coz I've been watching cartoons lately...and i am greatly underwhelmed...
the cartoon genre needs better writers people...we and should all sign petitions...i feel soo bad for my kids who will have to grow up watching mindless educative cartoon for entertainment...yuck!!
This show was fresh innovative different and just amazingly unique...the writers of this were phenomenal...they just took an idea and ran with it...sooo soo creative...i think i appreciate these shows more now...especially after seeing all the nonsense on our screens nowadays...
this was fun easy to watch endless ecstasy...you fell in love with all the characters...even the villains...this show had very well written villains that you were actually terrified of...and it's a kid's show!!
Because it's a kid's show...yes there's a bunch of lacklustre episodes here and there...but that doesn't taint what a masterpiece this was...just amazing...

While sometimes derivative, the Codename:Kids Next Door is a animated series that everyone can enjoy. The kids in sector V battle adult tyranny, go to school and enjoy life in their tree house. It seems that after the age of 13, they must undergo a decommissioning so that they can no longer work for the organization. This is a source of angst for the team as they love the KND and going on missions together. But in the meantime they do their best although sector V is not the top team, their hearts are always in the right place and adults are usually vanquished. I just wish this cartoon was available for purchase. I'm 50 and a huge fan. Hope they fight on for years.

I watched the show since it appeared for the first time, and I liked the basic concept - 5 vigilante kids fighting evil grownups. But that's where the creativity stopped. It was mostly a parody of spy movies. We saw thousands of other spy parodies (Austin Powers, Jonny English, Spy Dogs, Totally spies....) plus, the humor wasn't original at all and therefore it wasn't very good. But it was somehow OK and cute in the 1st season, but then in the 2nd season, things got slightly (or very much) got of hand. I realized that as soon as I saw an angry guy who can throw fire. That's not exactly a proper villain for this kind of cartoon. It appears that the writers after the 1st season already ran out of ideas so they use whatever they came up with just to keep the show float. In other words, the show went way downhill; and one of the reasons is that they changed the concept of 5 vigilante kids into ENTIRE FREAKIN' ARMY and turn it into Star Wars parody. The other thing is #4's little brother Tommy. He appeared in a 1st season episode as that typical "boring little brother" stereotype. Then some "genius" realized that he could be a good recurring character. Big mistake! Anyway, to put this to an end, I'm disappointed with what have they done with this concept which promised a lot, and I hope that they will spare it (and us) troubles and cancel it soon.

I saw the pilot to this series way back in 2001, now a couple of years later, Cartoon Network have come back with a full-blown series of this show.
To be honest, this is one of the most original and funny shows that I have ever seen, to spoil it would be crazy, go and find out for yourself!

I watched the first episode of this (no P in the OOL) four years ago when it premiered on Cartoon Network around Christmas time. It didn't really catch my interest then, and we got rid of cable so I never had a chance to watch the rest of the episodes. Years later they switched CN to channel 75 and I miraculously was able to watch it again. By then the show was in it's fourth season or something and still I didn't watch it. Finally, I watched episode M.A.T.A.D.O.R. and immediately loved it. Kids fighting against the evil 'super powers' of adults, how original can you get? I can see why people wouldn't like this, seeing as it's kind of repetitive and the story doesn't really advance much. Nonetheless, compared to the crap that CN now has to offer, this show is absolute genius! The characters are very well thought out and interesting, and the various missions in each episode can be hilarious. I'm a teen and I am not ashamed to watch it because I know a good cartoon when I see it. THIS IS A GOOD CARTOON! Hopefully it'll go on for many years to come. Check it out if you ever get the chance! 10/10

I find Codename: Kids Next Door is a very awesome childhood show on Cartoon Network in the 2000's decade, It has awesome characters, such as the main protagonists are the Sector V operatives (Numbuh 1/Nigel Uno, Numbuh 2/Hoagie P. Gilligan Jr, Numbuh 3/Kuki Sanban, Numbuh 4/Wallabee Beatles and Numbuh 5/Abigail Lincoln), the supportive characters are Numbuh 362/Rachel McKenzie, Maurice/Numbuh 9, Tommy Gilligan, Numbuh Zero/Monty Uno, etc, and the variety cast of villains from the KND rogues gallery are The Delightful Children From Down The Lane/The Sector Z Operatives, Cree Lincoln/Numbuh 11, Chad Dickson/Numbuh 274, Father/Benedict Uno, Mr. Boss, Toiletnator, Count Spankalot, Stickybeard, Knightbrace, Professor XXXL, Gramma Stuffum, Heinrich/Henrietta Von Marzipan and etc. The Animation and the storylines are amazing, I'm giving this animated series a 10/10.

Kids Next Door is an amazing show. Its about a group of five friends that work for a top secret organisation to fight for kids rights everywhere. The main goal of the 'Kids Next Door' is wanting to stop evil teens and insane adults trying to force fun-loving kids into becoming boring, responsible grownups. The five main characters of this lovable series starts with the leader, numbuh 1. He's a workaholic but a strong leader who loves every single one of his teammates. Then there's numbuh 2. A podgy genius with an unhealthy obsession for comic books! Now there's numbuh 3. She is the sweetest most gullible teammate of them all. (She also has a crush on numbuh 4!) Numbuh 4 is the tough guy on the team and is also the shortest member and gets picked on a lot for it! (He also happens to have a massive crush on numbuh 3.) And last but not least its numbuh 5. Shes the down to earth, smart yet cool kid who is close to everyone on the team and tends to talk about herself in third person. Its a fascinating show thats great for all the family and i would strongly recommend to anyone who reads this review!

This show rocks big time.I mean the whole name Kids next door I love the title and there own nick names 1,2,3,4,5 and there own inventions. Well number 1 is the leader number 2 is the inventor and 3 is well the baby of group and 4 is always looking after number 3 while number is really funny she just crams in those really classic jokes that has you still laughing. There biggest rivals are the adults it's really funny when they out smart them and sometimes they find teens which is really funny when they sometimes they find out that thing are not what they seem. It's really funny the episodes well get your kid saying when is the next episode. Trust me this show rocks big time.

Codename: kids next door is a show created in 2002 by some guy who thought it would be funny to have kids thinking they were older. The show is about 5 crime fighting teens who fight evil adults and through there is a number of adult themes played in children themes(for example when they are drinking soda as beer or when they speak). The movie is crap as they have 10 year old kids as spy's who speak like they actually are cool and whenever they try to be clever with plans they just come up with the lamest ideas ever and also when they try to be funny a parallel universe is formed causing funniness to die on TV. Now I had the deep misfortune of watching this piece of crap with my 2 kids and they did not think the kids were cool they thought they were Nerds just as I thought they were not cute. Overall this show is crap and should definitely should not lasted 3 episodes let alone 6 seasons. Well thats my 2 cents by LacTheBod. I rate this show 23%.

When I was watching Cartoon Network as usual, I saw a commercial for Codename: Kids Next Door. When I saw it, I thought this would be a totally lame show with kids who are brats and think that adults want to take over everything. I was wrong.
This show by far one of the best shows on Cartoon Network. It is funny and it has great animation. The dialogue and all the gadgets are funny. For Example: The Flu Bug(a.k.a. The Common Cold)had a mucus squirting machine. The machine was defeated my Numbuh 2's mother's Chicken Soup Machine. That was sheer bliss. It was uproarious. Watch this show. It is way better than Ed, Edd, and Eddy.

I can't think of any other show that is 100000% better as an adult.
The show is fueled by a child's perspective and understanding of the world, and it is exaggerated into a CSI world. It's a secret organization of Kids fighting adult tyranny.
Think of it as a G-rated animated version of Lord of the Flies but it's not a sausage fest, and there is slightly less killing.
The show had very memorable and likable characters, multiple plot twists, and best of all it was funny. Even as an adult it is genuinely, UN-ironically funny.
"What's a Bra" "And What's she TRAINING for"
It brings you back to those good old days of being an innocent kid, and as an adult you can really appreciate the satire and allegories in the show.
The series finale is by far the best series finale of any show on CN. It is surprisingly sophisticated for something that came out of Cartoon Network. While it's not the most satisfying, at the same time that's kind of what makes it better. It also ends on an ambiguous note.
I don't think calling it one of the great Cartoon Network shows is enough, I would go as far to say it's up there with Avatar and Batman as one of the all time great cartoons.
I have very few complaints except, I kinda want to see more. Why won't they make a remake of this?!

Hey Guys Today I'm going to review the Cartoon Network show called Codename: Kids Next Door a show that ran on Cartoon Network from December 6,2002-January 21,2008 with 6 Seasons and 178 Episodes. The show is about five kids that stop evil Adults. The show was pretty good but not as good as "The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy" In My Opinion . Funny thing this show had crossover Billy & Mindy in November 2007 called "The Grim Adventures Of The KND" which was funny. This cartoon had all the elements of what kids' lives should be about: friends, secret hideouts, tree houses, and codenames. However, the adventures of these five kids in the neighborhood were brought on by the fact that they're actually part of a larger global organization called Kids Next Door. The show ran from 2002 until 2008 and has become a favorite among many kids of all ages that followed Cartoon Network.
This show is one of the coolest cartoon in Cartoon Network. But most importantely it has a big emotional importance for me. When i saw its photo in instagram i remembered the good old days and just couldnt stop my tears.

Codename: Kids Next Door is a pretty good show because of kids going on missions every episode. Mr. Warburton and Cartoon Network, please release a possible KND sequel, with numbuh 83 (aka sonya) as a frequent main character, i promise i will praise teen titans go, and annoying orange that is a decent show. numbuh 1 and numbuh 2 are my favorite characters, but as for numbuhs 3, 5 and cree, they're one of my favorite girls, along with numbuh 83, 86, and 362. i mostly love sonya (numbuh 83) because she's the one cute character that she is afraid of the dark every time she's threatened by any villain, or anyone. the episodes were a bunch of great story arcs, and totally make sense to the writer's creativity. one of my favorite villains are: toilenator, father, grandfather, mr. boss, and count spankulot. the one flaw that the show could've improved is... more episode appearances of numbuh 83.

Another show that has an original and creative premise,nice animation,excellent voice acting and some mildly entertaining action scenes.But it's still not the show for me.I mean it's alright and mildly amusing,but sometimes the kids next door operatives can be really annoying.The jokes are 30% hit and 70% miss.The episodes are also real hit and miss with me.In fact,the only episode I really really liked was the one where they did a crossover with billy and mandy.But other than that,the episodes range from decent to boring.I would seriously NOT recommend this show to little kids with crazy imaginations who have teenage siblings.Oh,and the only character I care for is number 3.So bottom line:kids next door is just another show that I don't understand what the hype is about.It's an alright show for kids who are not super imaginative,but for people like me,it's just.....meh.
